Look out for Blockbusters closing in your area

The Blockbuster closest to my house is closing in a few days, so I went over there to see what kind of deals they had. Every pre-viewed DVD was going for $4, and video games were all 40% off. I picked up:

    The Informant
    Leaves of Grass
    Moon
    Men Who Stare At Goats
    A Serious Man
    Frost/Nixon
    Goodnight, Goodluck
    The Education of Charlie Banks
    Doubt
    The Darjeeling Limited
    Crazy Heart
    The International
    Invictus

Most of these have came out on DVD within the past year so for $4 these are pretty good deals.

ALl for $35 or $7 a blu ray.

Then got 14 DVDs for $30 or $2 a piece.

I got some good deals at a Blockbuster a few years ago for video games. It is probably better now, considering that there are so many closing up, they have nowhere for the inventory to go. Its definitely worth checking out.

I live in a more modern side of town. I haven't been close to a blockbuster in years, don't even know where to find one.

Liquidation isn't a short process, it usually takes around a month, or more.

Those are some seriously good hauls, I wish I would have checked out some of the closing stores around me.

There's one I know of near me, I'll have to check it out and see if I can score some blu rays for cheap.

Ironically I think thats the one thing that should stay.

Its amazing how badly blockbuster missed the boat on both mail and kiosks.
They had every chance to pummel Netflix and passed it up everytime.

In times of bailout and corporations buying laws to kill competition its refreshing to see stubborn antiquated companies get killed by smarter more useful upstarts.

Sadly I think kids today and on will never know the feeling of going to a video store to pick out a movie.
Best reason to have a license.

I was feeling that blockbuster was closing the stores to just resort to kiosks fulltime, guess i was wrong lol
