Nickelodeon's HEY DUDE Season 1 DVD Planned

    The ball keeps rolling.

Yes, you read it correctly! Nickelodeon's new deal with Shout! has struck gold for fans, bringing Hey Dude - Season 1 to DVD at long last! According to Amazon's pre-order listing (which went up over the weekend), the highly anticipated 2-DVD set will come to stores on July 19th. Cost is a mere $19.93 SRP, and you can lock in your copy at a discount using the provided link. Information sent to retailers by Shout!'s distributor, Vivendi Entertainment, shows that the running time is approx. 325 minutes, with full screen video and English stereo sound. They also had the front cover of the box, shown below, which may or may not be the final version (and so it could be subject to change). Check it out:

Amazon has it for pre-order for just $13.99.

Both the young chicks on that show could get it.

Christine Taylor (the blonde) is married to Ben Stiller.

btw - its about damn time these shows appeared on DVD.

Since the dawn of the internets there have been fan pages and a declaration for this shit to be more readily available, yet, no one budged. Some slowly came out...Pete and Pete, Clarissa, and I think there is a rare Are You Afraid of the Dark box set, but overall, these need to be out there, more.

Believe they only released S1 of the Alex Mack series (pushing Jessica Alba's few appearances mostly) a few years back, too.

With Are You Afraid, the Canadian company that was behind the show released DVD season sets awhile back that have skyrocketed on Amazon (can't see anyone forking over $150 for each season, used) because Nick hasn't released any sets. As far as box sets, that's either the Canuck company or perhaps even a homebrew set.

The first few seasons go for an arm and a leg (re: Are You Afraid of the Dark)...the later seasons are much more affordable.

The same thing happened with the GI Joe seasons...the older sets were discontinued and priced to the moon.

Nick just needs to get their shit together.

Stop the presses for Spongebob and Avatar, and get on it with the older stuff.

Double Dare was the best show Nickelodeon had to offer. When I was a kid I wanted Marc Summers to be my dad. Then I found out he was batshit crazy.

                      OCD is not "batshit crazy"
