Pretty good through one full listen, but some of the songs drag on too long; which is influenced by MBDTF, but not executed as properly. I'll give it more listens before I actually start rating shit, but one thing is for sure...Frank Ocean's hook on She is beautiful. Had that stuck in my head all day.

Lots of people are saying this is a grower and it gets better with every listen. Can't wait to give this 4-5 full listens with good headphones instead of just this listen with these shit ones I have atm.

Well I guess it is time for me to tell you all what I think of this album.
Previously I have been labeled as a hater, a tryhard, too serious, and only listens to Anthonys music. And I guess in the grand scheme of things I do come off as a little judgmental on Odd Future. So I gave this album 10 listens, as I do for most albums I download, and this is where I stand on it.
What the fuck is up with Tyler having so many stops in the album telling everybody he isn't serious and this is fictional? This album would be 40 minutes long if you cut out all the bullshit apologies. Stop making mainstream america that listens to your music, control your music Tyler. Part of the appeal is his "shock" rap, then he discredits all of it on the album.
Yonkers and Sandwitches are the best songs, which suck because I have already heard them. Nightmare is great to because it sounds authentic, which this album desperately lacks.
I thought Bastard was an ok starting point but I thought it needed some work to get to the next level. But I think Goblin is so many steps back from Bastard. Bastard was confessional and true, and he made the music the way he wanted to, which is something I usually love by any artist. And it sounded good.
Now an issue I had with Bastard is the production and technique of Tyler and was hoping in Goblin he would keep the authenticity of his lyrics but just clean up some parts. But I will just say it now, 65% of the beats and production on this album are trash. Now I know everyone is like "They are doing this by themselves, this is the kind of style they want. Wah wah wah." But I can show you plenty of underground rappers who have decent beats that fit their style. The beats are just ugly. At some point they have to take their beats seriously and push it to the next level of weird beats and stop being lazy.
Goblin got tainted by their popularity. It is sad because instead of having a good run in the music industry and changing peoples opinions, I think they made a huge step back.
But I am sure no one will respond to this and label me as a hater. Maybe someday everyone will take their shades off and see it in a different point of view.Comment

Yeah when I was watching it I remembered hearing someone else say that. Forgot it was just from a few minutes earlier when I read Irish's post.Comment
