My goodness the kid was an asshole, but I liked the in-depth look into the game.

Red: 6.1/10 - Doesn't stray far from others like it and it isn't nearly as comical or violent enough to warrant any real props, but its cast, powered by a hysterical John Malkovich, steps up when nothing else does. Aside from that, Red is ordinary in every conceivable way. Some laughs, some violence, no sex, nothing special. An enjoyable, but forgettable film.
It's Kind of a Funny Story: 7.4/10 - Had the potential to be one of the best of the year; however, it's afraid to truly tackle its deep issues. Instead of digging deep into the root of the problems, the story passes by and grazes the surface and instead focuses on the redemption and realizations of its main character. It's unique and well-written and beautifully acted by its cast, but it's far too upbeat and straight shot for its own good.
Jackass 3D: 8.3/10 - I laughed throughout most of it. How do you possibly rate this movie? You know exactly what you're going to get. If you like this kind of stuff, you'll love it. If you don't, you'll hate it. The Jackass guys proved they haven't lost their edge.
The Pawnshop: 9.2/10 - Comedic brilliance, nothing more, nothing less.
Nanook of the North: 7.6/10 - Very well put together for the first known documentary ever shot; however, the novice-ness of the filmmaker is blatant in some shots. A lot of the time the shot is enthralling and attention grabbing. The abilities of the Eskimo are quite simply breathtaking; however, a couple of the scenes are shot for far too long and bring nothing to the table as far as presenting the lives of these people.
Never Let Me Go: 8.5/10 - Bizarre and endlessly fucked up, yet as powerful as any other film release this year. It was not at all what I was expecting, but had plenty of what I felt would make the movie great: the deepest human themes. It's beautifully and perfectly acted by its cast and it really does tug at your heartstrings. It's unique, it's well directed, well written and overall a great watch. Of course, I didn't read the book.
Jack Goes Boating: 6.4/10 - If there's one word to sum it up it would be "uneven." It's biggest flaw is its dialogue which is half-natural, half-painfully forced. Several of its attempts to produce realistic gags are poorly executed and the film seems to lose sight of itself at one point. It's honest look at the socially awkward people and how the ease into relationships is mostly effective. Ultimately, the film is one big reassurance. It features people trying as hard as they can to make a good impression and not mess things up. The situations are well though out but the dialogue, once again, is severely hit or miss and calls way too much attention to itself and tries to exceed the realm of socially awkward just for laughs. One of the clear cut benefits is its message of visualizing goals and slowing things down while putting things in perspective. Not only does it result in some of the film's most eloquent scenes, but it makes one couple while it breaks another. The characters are, without a doubt, interesting and they're disposition makes for a tense and powerfully surprisingly climax. The film is filled to the brim with emotion, but never goes full circle. Philip Seymour Hoffman's directorial debut has to be seen as a success as the way the film is shot is very well done and the cast is on the money, it's the film's writing, especially its exchanges that pull the film off its course and give it the feeling that its trying to be more "in-your-face" and important than it really is. A good watch, but flawed.
A bit confusing as it nears the end, but pretty well done.

Haven't seen it since I was 6 in the theatre. All I remembered was Jodie Foster and those big ass satellite things, so I thought that she was just gonna be listening for Aliens the whole movie. Alot better then I expected, liked the debate between Science and God.
