Why? Because I have to buy a 3rd party media player to use one?

If you're looking for the Alien Anthology box set, you should look at amazon.co.uk. I think it's about $35 shipped after the conversion. You probably won't find a better price on that anywhere else new or used.

On the other hand, the Bourne series has gone down in price a lot lately. So, you could probably find a comparable deal from a domestic retailer.

Blu ray in particular offers a better experience than what you can get on most computers IMO. So if you have the means to watch your favorite movies on blu ray on an HDTV, you're better off going that route than watching a movie file.

Jesus Christ, do you understand how resolution works? Do you understand how HDMI works?

Unless you're downloading a lossless blu ray rip (which is way too many gigs via torrent if you consider seeding time alone IMO), you're going to have inferior picture/sound quality. Now, if that's what you do, more power to you, but I'd rather have the ability to watch any movie in my library whenever I like without the limitations of storage space or using my bandwidth to get a 1.0 ratio on the torrent.

I honestly just love looking at my bookshelf and seeing my blu rays and dvds on display. It makes me feel like a G.
