Representing north of the border, Shad hails from Ontario and brought his A work on his latest release TSOL. With just 13,000 listeners on last.fm, Shad is hardly known but should be. The song 'Yaa I Get It' sums it up well:

Definitely excited to watch this list unfold. I have the same feelings about Below The Heavens as MvP does...TSOL was one of my favorite albums from last year.

I'm interested to hear your thoughts on The Old Prince. By far my favorite work of Shad's.

I am not sure which Shad album is my favorite, it does not seem like he varied very much stylistically from album to album and each one has some that I really enjoy and some other songs that I'm not big on.

I've always thought Old Prince was a lot better than his other 2 albums but I only listened to TSOL twice. Might need to check that out again.

9th Wonder on the beats, and an underrated Phonte destroying this album from front to end. This album could easily blend in with the greats of the 90's. Notable tracks are 'Away From Me', 'Whatever You Say' and 'Speed'. The sample on Whatever You Say = Killer, taken from Cleo Laine 'I Believe You'
