I only go to the movies for the 'bigger' releases. There are maybe 2-3 a month (if that) and tickets are $7.50 here.

No wonder you go to the theater so often.

I would go more often. But not paying yearly.
I would do a monthly pass or somecrap like that.
Best reason to have a license.

I was shocked how cheap movie tickets are outside of the northeast.

The first time I went to the movies in Texas, the clerk said "$10, please", and I replied "oh no, i'm sorry, I wanted two tickets", and she looked at me like I was a retard.

I now consider going to the movies one of the cheaper forms of entertainment. Less than $5 for matinees, shit might as well be free.

Matinees for me are still $9.50.

Ya'll must live in the fuckin Ozarks or Kuwait where they are still showing films on Beta Max.

I remember talks of this a while back. It can be a good idea for those that have families and don't want to bother with going out.

Until Hollywood stops making shit movies 95% of the time I'd never use the full $50 in a month.

About $12.50 per ticket for a barely 90 minute film usually.

This service would save some money but how do you replace the "moviegoing experience?"

The theaters in the Phoenix area offer cheap tickets ($5 per adult for early screenings) and are in pretty good shape. Same in Tucson.

My theater is probably the best in Michigan. $5 for any showing before 6 pm, Popcorn and Pop for $8 and get free refills on both and the theaters are always nice and big for new releases. I love going in the morning after work because nobody is there.

Same quality, probably a bit cleaner if anything.
