    Rescue Me Series Finale 9/7

The series finale is next Wed. September 7th. All I have to say is that this last episode's ending was unbelievably horrible. But in a good way. The cliffhanger wanted me to cry and the promo for the final episode ever?!?! Forget about it I balled. Amazing song choice. Check it out below.

In the last episode we watched Colleen and Black Sean get married. At the end of the episode, the six men of the crew: Tommy, Lou, Franco, Mickey, Garrity, and Black Sean get trapped in a warehouse inferno, A homage to the fire that killed Denis Leary's cousin and childhood friend. At the very end of the episode the men get trapped in a corner of the warehouse and just as Tommy goes to get Lou away from holding the door an explosion tears half the warehouse away.

So the promo shows that atleast two firefighters have been killed in the explosion. But I have seen promo pictures of the final episode and if you dont want it to be ruined dont read this next spoiler:

Tommy does not die. He is giving a speech to a sea of probies in front of the 9/11 monument just like in episode 1 of season 1. The back of the heads of two firefighters that Tommy is pointing too is evident: Black Sean and Mickey. In the promo vid we see that the LT buttoning up has dark skin meaning that Franco has been promoted to LT. Leaving the horrible truth that Lou and Garrity have died in the explosion.

The preview for next week episode says "new recruits get a familiar speech from a new leader" so I'm pretty sure at least one of the guys survive. Hopefully Franco dies, he's been a colossal douche this season.

This show was awesome for the first 3 or 4 seasons, among the best shows of all time, but it seriously went to shit the last couple of seasons. I gave up on this season after a couple of episodes, but will watch the finale for sure.

Finally caught up. It took them a while, but the show has been back to what it used to be for the last three episodes.

Excited for tonight's finale in a BIG way.

Well, they closed everything up pretty nicely.

The fake-out in the first 2 minutes was freaky though. lol

I was getting ready to rage when Tommy woke up because I thought they might be doing the "it was all a dream" thing. Okay finale, pretty predictable once they showed Lou was the only one who died. With the opening I figured it had to be a fake-out because with 5 of the main characters dead what would they have done the entire episode?

I would have preferred it if the 5 died and Lou lived. Would have been more interesting.

This show should have ended two years ago. It felt like the writers ran out of ideas the last few seasons, and they didn't really build to the finale. They kind of just randomly gave you a "who's dead?" cliffhanger. I just feel like creatively they lost their edge a few seasons ago. Tommy could only fall off the wagon so many times before you become numb to it. When he had the booze on the desk in the finale, you were supposed to be like "don't do it!", but I didn't really get that feeling at all. Been there, done that.

Great, great show for four seasons. After that, it struggled.

Why read a thread titled "series finale" the day after it airs if you haven't seen it? Also way to quote it so the spoiler tags are ruined.

IMO, the show fell off a cliff after the season that ended with Shiela burning down the house with Tommy in it. Great cliffhanger and then it's all for nothing.
