Some people know Wonder Woman, but I doubt they would rush to the movies like when a Batman or Superman movie drops. Flash is not that well known, neither are characters like Hawk Girl, or Aquaman.

Whereas, Marvel has Spiderman, Ironman, Thor, Captain America, Hulk and Blade......just seems like people know these characters more and are easily marketable.

I mean a movie about The Joker, with just him in it would do better than Green Lantern.
Don't forget all the X-men movies, Wolverine, Men In Black (yes it was a comic before a movie, acquired by Marvel in 1994), Avengers, Ghost Rider, Daredevil and Electra. But I digress.

I think you're right. It did seem like the Green Lantern was marketed and advertised consistently for almost 2 years. It may be that these characters are lesser known, and so DC is having to spend a ton of cash to get some public recognition.

It obviously made tougher when you're releasing a superhero movie the same summer two others drop. It's especially harder when audiences want more from a super hero film. The I saved the world in 1 hour 43 minutes shtick is getting old, and I for one want more character development.

I feel if DC were to make a move toward producing a better product, audiences would respond, whether they know the character beforehand or not.

Most of the audience didn't know Blade was a comic before the movie release, I for one didn't. I doubt you'll find a lot of people that knew Men In Black was a comic before also. But the movies themselves were a better product, and audiences responded.

That's just how I see it anyhow.

DC Universe always seemed to be set in an idealistic, good vs evil, black and white kind of setting. Add to the fact that they really sort of hitched their wagon to the "Big Three" and everyone else is just kind of along for the ride and that's why they're not relevant to the reader/viewer.

Marvel always to me seemed like shades of grey, made their characters relatable to the audience in that they go through a lot of the things normal folks go through, just with the fact that they have superpowers.

To me that's the biggest reason Spider-man has always been so successful. No bigtime superhero is more identified with the everyman.

Add to that the fact that many characters got the spotlight early at around the same time. Stan Lee creates the Hulk. BANG! He creates the Fantastic Four. BANG! He creates the X-Men. And so on.

I think with the first GL, they should have focused more on Oa, and the other GLs, when Sinestro puts on the yellow ring, I really didnt care, mostly because I knew it was coming, but also because they didnt explain it all, and actually my dad and I were debating the will vs fear angle after the movie, like, we saw will can be more stronger, so why did Sinestro put the yellow (fear) ring on if he knew it could be defeated? I didnt really care for anybody in that movie.

I dont think it all has to do with how well known a certain character is. I would have never considered Thor to be one of the higher up Marvel guys, and the movie made some good cash, Iron Man wasnt all the big until the movie, IMO.I think more people know about the Hulk, but both of his movies have only been ok. And now Marvel plans to test the waters with some lower down heroes and make like 15-20 min movies around them on a small budget. DC is still planning Flash and Wonder Woman movies, and I think they need to shoot them on modest budgets. One last thing, I think Marvel is more willing to take chances on lesser known heroes, just to try and get them out there, like Blade, Ghost Rider, Kick Ass, Jonah Hex, etc

              Pretty cool pic I found

On the trailer, I wonder who is climbing up the wall, possibly Bats or Bane, and who is behind Bats when Bane is walking up the stairs, alot of people are thinking maybe SWAT, I think it might be another camera operator and he is a distinct color so they can remove him in the final product

Any superhero film can be good if they don't have someone writing the story for money. They have to be invested in the character. I was reading on GL and the head producer for DC over at WB had all the power and constantly changed things and wanted everything his way. Obviously it turned out to be awful. They actually had a slid cast but the situations and dialogue made everyone look bad.

Marvel at the greatness that is Tom Hardy as Bane.

                            From: http://www.extrahype.com/anne-hathaw...stume-revealed

Looks like Holywood Life, has some sources that confirmed that Catwoman’s cstume will not be like Halle Berry’s or Michelle Pfeifer’s, but more close to the current one in comics.

“Anne’s outfit is more tactical, like the comic book, than the previous Batman movies,” a source very close to the costume design tells us exclusively. “She will definitely be wearing the goggles and it’s going to be less sexy than Halle Berry and Michelle Pfeiffer’s Catwoman costumes. She’s going to look more like a robber.”

Adds the insider, “But fan boys shouldn’t be worried. This costume is going to be form-fitting enough to make Anne look smoking hot.”

We cannot wait to see Anne — who says she’s been working out non-stop to get in shape for the role — as Catwoman. As we previously reported, a source on set told us the 28-year-old actress is dominating in the role and will blow audiences out of the water.

“Everything from the looks in her eyes, her head movements, her body–everything is so feline. The role is taking her to new places,” the insider said.

NOT AN ACTUAL PICTURE, still in the early process.

That picture got me thinking, of a common links between all the film's trailers!

Excluding the Teasers, all those did was give you a tease of what Batman's up to... AKA "Last week on Batman..." that's why the only decent Teaser was for Begins.

Everyone of the Official full length trailers had the Villains doing the "narrating."

BB: Raz, TDK:Joker.... So, my prediction is we get a December trailer full of Bane goodness!

                              See for you self:

They're making a "The Dark Knight Returns" animated movie that will be released next year.
