I never really liked Superman...the vulnerability of a super-hero is what ultimately intrigued me. Batman has plenty of gadgets and extensive training, but is human in the end, and beatable by the right villain. Spiderman has superhuman strength, agility, etc. plus the whole web shit...but once again, still human, can be killed. Iron Man...pretty much the same thing as Batman.
But Superman is always either the baddest man on the fucking planet, or the biggest pussy on Earth if he's in the vicinity of a green rock.
You can't have him fight a alien like Zod, Doomsday or Drakseid. It'll be too much like the the Green Lantern movie coming out.Comment

Supermans biggest vulnerability is his humanity not Kryptonite. If you wanna make a badass supes movie have Lex attack Clarks friends and family all while mastermind a plot to kill Superman in public by a bad guy like Metallo.

GL is part of a Corps that handles the Entire Universe
so...Supes is based on Earth, GL is Based in space...theyre different

You think the new movie with Green Lantern is going to take place mostly in space or on planet earth... Think about it.Comment

What an in-depth, deep, emotional, complex character he is. An alien who can't be hurt, killed, or even muss up a strand of hair. And his disguise is a pair of glasses. Whoa. Gayest fucking creation in the history of the genre. And every movie has sucked.
Clark Kent is the costume aka "the mask", Superman (Kal-El) is the true identity. It is in Clark Kent were the real depth of what the Superman comics are trying to represent.Comment

I don't think he is as much a study as Batman is...the psychology of Batman is, in and of itself, rather awesome...but Superman has his own level of psychology that is very much intriguing...like I mentioned in the post above, plus, despite Superman being all that human's want to be, he is still very flawed in that something so simple can cripple him...
The fact that Clark is the actual alter ego of Superman delves into a whole world of discussion points that Batman and the like can notComment

The depth in Superman is NOT his actual alien self...it is how, an alien, sees the human race as he tries to blend in, as Clark Kent...weak, meek, greatly flawed...

Superman is really a three part puzzle, you have Superman, Clark Kent and Kal-El. Superman is the hero, the one that has to make the "right" decision all the time because all eyes are on him. Superman is more then a man, he's god like, the savior of humanity. Clark is who he was raised to be by the Kent's, he's human and flawed. Kal El is the alien that feels secluded and alone, who seeks guidance in his fortress of solitude.
One thing is contestant in Superman/Clark/Kal El he loves humanity and everything it stands for. The funny thing is even though Kal El knows he's better then humans and can rule the world he never does anything about... Because deep down he identifies the most with Clark. Clark is who Superman is!
I don't think Superman uses Clark as a mask it's the other way around. If Superman felt that negative about humans I highly doubt he would risk his neck for them and do the right thing all time. Think about if Superman was that egotistical he wouldn't do the Right thing every time. It completely doesn't fit with the character of Superman/Clark/Kal ElComment

There is a reason that Earth is at the centre of the multi-verse. Thus, any GL movie will have to take place on Earth. To expect first time Green Lantern movie goers to know WTF Korugar is and why Sinestro had to dominate it is ridiculous.
Looking at the IMDB so far, the two villains are Hector Hammond (an earth based villain with an enlarged brain) and Sinestro. Even Sinestro could be good, since prior to Hal, he was the Corp's prized asset.
If you can't tell, I love the GL. And have huge hopes for it. It does not have to be a retelling of Blackest Night for me to love itComment
