I remember watching a show called "Miss Match", which featured Alicia Silverstone as a matchmaker or something (anyone?). So after about 10 episodes, the show just isn't on the next week. Or the next. Then the network says the show is being put on hiatus and the next episode will air in March. March comes, nothing. Then a few months later, the official announcement that the show is canceled.
Sometimes they won't officially give a show the ax, just in case they need to use it as filler later.
Let's say "Miss Match" is doing a 3.5 or whatever, something borderline, and they decide it has to go. So they yank it after 10 episodes, but they still might have 3 left in the can. Come March, if the wacky new Wanda Sykes vehicle is doing really bad, like 1.5 bad, they can yank that shit and just throw the remaining "Miss Match" episodes on to finish up the season.Comment

I've been watching alot of new shows this season and yes, i've watched and even liked a few shows most people dont. The only 2 shows i've actually given up on right now are Ringer and Prime Suspect. The Playboy Club, 2 Broke Girls, Pan Am and Charlies Angels I do like but do realize they wont last long, TPC already out. The shows I feel are more promising are Person of Interest, Terra Nova, and Homeland.
Also, dont know why, but I recently decided to start watching 30 Rock, and it has some good laughs, but still dont like Tracy Morgan
Pan Am slipped this week but still did over 7 mil, I would say right now it's safe. It's a critical hit and will get chances.Comment

My girlfriend loves PanAm but I haven't seen any of it. Is it any good? My summation based on the promotional material is that the women aren't hot enough or interesting enough for me to watch.Comment

Haven't watched any of it, but most of my friends with decent taste in this business despise it. They claim it to be a poor man's Mad Men, which is already a poor man's version of The Hour.Comment

I watched the Playboy Club. That one was destined to die the moment it was conceived on network TV. As has been stated, on HBO or even FX, it would have been sweet. I liked the setting and that, but the characters didn't resound at all. They took the wrong approach in having the big "mobster dies and we have to hide it" moment at the begining and trying to build characters around dealing with it. Should have built towards it.Comment

You could just watch Mad Men, it's the show that Pan Am is blatantly ripping off stylistically...
I watched a good numbers of episodes from the first season of Mad Men and I just couldnt get into it. I do like Jon Hamm, but just thought Draper was rather boring, maybe I can give it another shot.Comment

Hank Azaria vehicle 'Free Agents' has been cancelled after four episodes.
Reruns of 'Whitney' will air in its place.Comment

I watched the 'Free Agents' pilot and there was absolutely nothing that made me want to watch the next episode.Comment
