fucking LOVED the book, but the movie wasn't as good as it IMO. Still a good movie, mind you, but I felt that they really rushed through a lot of the parts. I'll still go see it a couple more times though.
You have to give them some credit though. For throwing a whole book into a 2 hour movie they did a good job.

It did feel REAL rushed at times if you've read the book but I'm with you cf24, I'd see it again.
    I give rep not thanks

I did not enjoy the book, thought it was kind of silly and way too seemingly focused on young girls. Doubt I'll see the movie, but reviews I've read make me feel like it might be better than the book.

Almost got dragged to see this but luckily my gf's mom is in town so they are gonna go tomorrow. Consider that a bullet dodged.

            This sounds pretty derivative.

The book was better...then again, it usually is, as books can impart so much more depth into a story.

That being said, my wife and I enjoyed the movie. I felt they did a really good job with their time constraints. And to see things come to life that you've visualized is always cool.

                Really dug the movie.

                8/10.

Jennifer Lawrence ain't playin' around...she's a Hollywood A-Lister after this one.

It sort of dragged on in the beginning and later on it just felt like anytime there was a problem an answer was handed right to the character, but it did have some redeeming moments.

                  7.5/10

Was I the only person who was sorely disappointed in the ending of the third book?

Nope, definitely ended with a whimper.

                        Very rushed, I was disappoint.

I thought it was fine up until she reached the President's mansion. The killing of Prim made absolutely no sense at the time, then it made a little more sense...then it made no sense again.

There are characters who had time invested into their development, only to be dismissed (with no closure) by silly deus ex machina crap (Johanna with the water). Gale disappears with no end to his tale, Haymitch disappears after being the conscience the whole series.

Fuck, man. Between this and the ending of ME3, trilogies are really starting to fuck up lately.

I buy it. Been on the 'wagon since seeing Winter's Bone. I think she can be a star. She's pretty universal and unoffensive. Dudes like her, chicks like her, parents like her, kids like her, she's all good. She's cute but she's not at that goddess level of hot where she'd get backlash from other women.

Plus she's got some acting chops.

Minus the awful shaky close up cam for the fight scenes, I enjoyed the shit out of it/10

I'm curious. Of those that have seen it here, did you read the book or not?
