    Do you still buy DVDs/Blu-Ray?

    Last ones I've brought......

    3-4 years ago.

    Earlier this year

    Also this year

Looking back I don't even know why. I'd love to start a collection, but it seems almost pointless at this point with how easy it is to watch any movie online. A Harry Potter box-set is the only thing I can see myself buying later down the road.

Last thing I got was the Star wars blu ray complete saga. That is like the first DVD/Bluray Ive gotten since.... I cant even remember its been so long. Redbox and Netflix have really put an end to buying stuff.

Perfect example. About 2 months ago I watched Episodes 4-6 on youtube.

For what I do, it's pointless to bother buying it.

        NO!

I have 2 Blu Ray movies given to me at XMAS at some point.

Dark Knight and Planet Earth.....although now that I think about it, it would be cool to watch Jurassic Park on Blu Ray.

I cant watch epic movies like Star wars on youtube or the internet. I want the best quality picture possible as well as the biggest. I can only stomach youtube movies if its something that I probably wont care to ever see again and or cant find anywhere else like old disney channel movies.

It's a case by case thing at this point. If I already have something on DVD, I am not gonna upgrade to the blu-ray. If I see a movie that I absolutely love, I'll get the blu ray just to have it in the collection, but chances are I'll rarely actually watch it.

Occasionally Target or Best Buy will run a sale on blu-rays and I'll pick up a few then, but it's not something I go out of my way to do every month.

I just bought 'Six Feet Under: The Complete Series' for $60 at Wal-Mart....I hate watching shitty quality feeds on my computer for the most part.

idk. even though I rarely end up watching the movies I buy, I love looking at my bookshelf and seeing my decent sized collection. Its more of an eye candy for me. I probably buy 5-7 movies a month but never pay more than $17.

last two things i bought were life (not as good as planet earth, but still good) and the star wars box set, before that, i think maybe the dark knight, otherwise i never buy that shit anymore

hell i just sold off 50 dvds the other day cause i've gotten to the point where i no longer care to house all that shit.

It's been awhile, I'd say close to a year. What sucks tho, is that I got this about a month ago from my ISP.

Had to agree to some new terms of service to get my shit back on.

I understand your point of view but this sounds like such an American consumerist habit lol

I still buy my favorite movies eventually because I do not feel like movies on the internet are at the level yet where I can always rely on being able to find a high quality version, or any at all in some cases (ahem Houston Wages of Fear) to be able to watch.
