Amazing album. Midnight City is my song of the year. The Intro and Midnight City are the best two songs to start an album this year. I don't know anyone that did not love this album.

Beautiful album. I knew it was number one when I heard it in January. If it is able to survive an entire year of listening to hundreds of new albums, I knew for me it was something special. And it is still as solid as the first day I listened to it. Without a doubt my number one and probably one of my favorite albums of all time. I will be listening to this album for the rest of my life.

Due to a series of events leading up to today, it appears I will be celebrating the end of the year away from my computer during night times for the next couple of days. I felt like my top 2 were pretty much foretold at this point and I CAN DO WHATEVER I WANT, IT'S MY LIST. It's been a great year of music and a great year for me. So thanks everybody for reading, following, commenting, or viewing my attempt at making sense of my 2011 in music. I hope I was able to give respect to, entertain, and open peoples' ears to music. Thank you!
Obvious post is obvious but if you like Holy Ghost! and have never heard of LCD Soundsystem(blasphemy), please go listen to everything they have made.
There's definitely no guarantee these guys will like LCD. The songs are longer, require more patience, and far-less poppy.
With that said, they're the best band of the new millennium and my favorite act of all-time. I'm not even kidding when I say that if all other music was somehow forbidden from me for the rest of my life, I'd be perfectly fine.
As I told Irish last night, I love the Holy Ghost! album but I do not like LCD Soundsystem at all.
I so want to groan you, but that's not my style. I can't even begin to fathom how people can't enjoy LCD.
I can only assume you either A.) haven't listened to all of their stuff or B.) are an impatient listener.
I'm willing to bet that after you listen to Holy Ghost! and Cut Copy solid for a month or so, you would go back to LCD and say to yourself, "How the fuck did I not think these were the best three records created while I was alive?"
I haven't listened to a complete album by them, I've only heard their most popular songs. But see I am not one to judge an artist/band based off his/their singles, so I'm willing to give them another chance. Recommend me an album or two to start off with.
edit: They only have three albums. I'll download them all, fuck it.

They only made three albums before James Murphy called it quits.
Just start from the beginning, with their 2002 self-titled debut. It's 2 discs and most people like it the least, but I think it's important to start there. I still think it's an incredible album, Murphy just tried to do too much.
