LOL some of you have no patience.

"I watched the first 4 episodes of the Wire and it was boring so I stopped."

This is like saying, "I read the first chapter of The Great Gatsby and it was pointless and boring so I stopped."

You have to give a good show at least 3-6 episodes to develop before judging it. If you can't do that, then I don't know why you are even wasting your time trying out new shows.

Very rarely does a show other than a sitcom start off with great storylines right away.

My favorite recommendations if you haven't seen them yet:

          The Wire
          Game of Thrones
          Breaking Bad
          Dexter
          Homeland

          As far as comedies go:

It's Always Sunny (the most recent season finale was one of the funniest things I've ever seen)
          Eastbound & Down
          Workaholics

Has anyone here seen Deadwood? It's gotten good reviews but I haven't heard anyone talk about it really.

I read the entire book and it was pointless and boring, wish I would've stopped after the first chapter.

The Wire's pacing killed it for me. I know its a visual novel, and takes its time, but I don't want to watch a show that is paced like a book. If I did, I would just read a book.

if you can't sit through the Wire, you have no room to speak in television discussions. I'm just saying. What REALLY do you have to do with your time? Just watch the damn show.

I have fallen asleep twice while watching it. Just not my type of show I guess.

No surprise, obviously the book went right over your head.

Lol @ one of the best books of all time being pointless and boring.

Houston, you're just smarter than everyone else.

                        Too bad. You're missing out.

I know guys that couldn't sit threw the Shawshamk Redemption. Theyd rather watch Smokin Aces. You must be that type.

                          A shot.

I'm not going to beg a person to watch the Wire or any show for that matter. But don't just watch a couple episodes and give up.

If you can't even dedicate yourself to one season of a show then you shouldn't start it in the first place. The Wire isn for everyone because each episode is an hour and it is not an action thriller.

Terriers was awesome, btw. Makes me really sad that there's not going to be more of it. I knew this would happen. Now I'm depressed. Thanks a lot, Brnt.

Well I did read it when I was 5, maybe that had something to do with it.
