I just saw it last night and it wasn't the greatest. It's another one of those book >>>>>>>>>>> movie.

EDIT: Max von Sydow doesn't even speak in the movie and maybe has 30-45 minutes on screen.

Not the strongest year for cinema.

Nick Nolte still gets Oscar nominations? I thought his wretched "performance" in Blue Chips got him kicked out of the Academy.

He did a real good job in Warrior. Of course though he was playing a drunk, so I wonder how much of it was actually acting.

Wow that has got to be one of the worst list of nominations Ive seen. There is a huge snub in just about every category.

I feel like Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close was determined to be a nominee after it's first trailer was released regardless of how good the movie is. It's just that kind of movie.

Anyways, I'm guessing The Artist is going to far very well once again.

war horse and extremely loud and incredibly close getting any nominations is a joke. the artist will probably sweep thank god. the only thing that could redeem this is if rooney mara upsets davis and streep, but that won't happen.

Yeah, 9/11 seems like its starting to be one of those subjects that almost automatically gets Oscar noms like Holocaust movies.
