The Cabin In The Woods

Can't type too much since I'm on my phone, but this movies came out today and I was wondering if anyone plans on seeing it? I have work this morning but there is a showing after I get off so I'll probably go see it. Over 90% on rotten tomatoes and the trailer was pretty interesting. Only about an hour and a half though.

Just got out off the theatres and I have to say I kinda loved it a bit. It's kind of the cliche teens stuck at a cabin in the woods but they added an extra level to it and it wasn't boring, it was actually kinda funny at some times. I wasn't sure what to expect going in, I only really knew the premise but there are some pretty scary scenes and some moments you'll want to laugh out loud. The sfx was really good too. Would love to see it again. Also, I've seen some people compare it to the Evil Dead, only seen parts of some of them, but it is really weird.

I really have a soft spot for Horror genre deconstructions; I loved this, Scream, Funny Games, and Tucker and Dale vs. Evil. It is always entertaining to see a genre based on cliches picked apart because of it.

Add to that Joss Whedon's sense of humor and this was a winner.

I kind of liked it. Lol. Generic but with the twist and comedic approach to it. It wasn't bad in my opinion. I agree with Buzzman, I'd like to see a prequel to it.
