    Lilyhammer

Frank Tagliano ('Steven Van Zandt' ), is a former New York mobster, who after testifying in a trial in the United States, Tagliano joins the witness protection program. Intrigued by the place after watching the Winter Olympics in 1994, he is relocated to Lillehammer in Norway. The transition from being a feared and respected gangster in New York, to becoming an unemployed immigrant in Norway, is not simple. Frank soon discovers that in order to succeed in this rural Norwegian society, he must resort to his old ways.
This is the first of what will be many Netflix original series, with Kevin Spacey's new show House of Cards coming up, along with Season 4 of Arrested Development.

Odd premise. I watched the first two episodes, and yes, it's essentially Silvio Dante from The Sopranos relocated to Norway...but without the writing acumen of the Sopranos writing team. It was produced in Norway, funded partially by Netflix, so it has lots of subtitles.

While a little goofy, it still held my interest and I plan in finishing all 8 episodes. The reviews are mixed, but mostly 'meh'. Nobody loves it, a few people like it, most think its average, a few hate it.

    Anybody else watching this?

The pilot drew one million viewers in Norway, which is equivalent to 58 million viewers in the United States.

Was renewed for Season 2, by the way.

If you are on the fence, at least you know you won't get left hanging.

I honestly don't want to support Netflix's venture into original programming, as, they are probably going to go to a web based content subscription network ala a new wave HBO/Cinemax...the decision makers of the company have really let me down lately.

I randomly started watching this last night and I just finished 4 eps. I like it. Parts of it can seem to stretch out a bit and I can see how some people are turned off by the constant subtitles. Overall though, I'm enjoying it.

When's season 2 supposed to come out?
