3D is useless in general....but almost all the higher end tvs come with it now.

Go as big as the room will allow....55 inch is not that big IMO....it is kind of perfect

when i bought my 55 inch tv and got it home i thought to myself "shit that looks alot bigger when it's not next to 20 other 55 inch screen" now that i've had it almost a year i wish i would have gone bigger still, and probably will for the basement/man cave tv.

LED will always look better in a showroom. You simply won't be able to tell the advantages of plasma until you see one in home.

Im gonna be honest I fully understand why people like LEDs and buy them. But the price difference isn't worth it IMO. If you can get a better looking and larger set for hundreds less is it worth it?
Plasmas do give off more heat. They also have to be babied first 100 hours or so of use.
As for 3D lgs passive 3D uses the same as movie theater glasses so getting 3,6 or 100 is no big deal. Active shutter glasses are all expensive min. 50$ a pair plus batteries etc. Unless you're an active buyer of bluray 3d is minimally important. Not enough TV content. And shitty Netflix and blockbuster have ZERO selection in 3D.
Best reason to have a license.

I honestly think for the price this seems like a decent TV...go see it in the store.

As far as customer service is concerned LG is a terrible way to go. They have notoriously the worst customer service in the business and had been turning people off lately which is why a lot of LG tvs are now on sale
