I got to see an advance screening here last week and would give it a solid 8 to 8.5 rating. It's got a very edgy dark comedy vibe to it. Matthew McConaughey and Thomas Haden Church are really good in their roles as the detective that moonlights as an assassin and the dumbass would be customer. The fact that I have always had a thing for Gina Gershon didn't hurt. -
I remember seeing a trailer for this, didn't think it was NC-17 like the beginning of the trailer says, though. Still, it looks like a Matthew McConaughey movie that I actually want to see.Comment

The movie reminded me a lot of Fargo even though they are nothing alike subject matter wise. It has a Coen Brothers feel to it at times.
The ending is a bit odd but fits the movie perfectly.Comment
