    Surely, they jest.

Veteran Hollywood stars Robert De Niro and Sylvester Stallone are returning to the boxing ring in the forthcoming comedy Grudge Match.

De Niro, who won an Oscar for his role as boxer Jack LaMotta in Raging Bull, will play a retired fighter who agrees to one last bout in the ring.

His rival will be played by Stallone, best known for the Rocky films - a character last revived in 2006.

The pair will be directed by Get Smart's Kevin Segal.

Stand up comedian Kevin Hart, who recently starred in Think Like A Man, will play the promoter who persuades the old timers back into the ring, Deadline reported, while Entourage's Doug Ellin will write the screenplay.

Damn....I hope this isn't true. Stallone was actually able to pull off "Balboa" to put Rocky to pasture with some dignity. He really needs to step away from boxing characters. And De Niro? Great actor but I don't think he can convincingly play a boxer at this point in his life.

Two actors who make anything for a paycheck making a shitty boxing movie to cash in on movies that were successful 30 years ago? Well, I'm completely shocked.

Never seen a pic of De Niro where he's young.

You seem to have missed the key word in all of this...

De Niro's past 15 years of work (post-Ronin) has been extremely disappointing. Hate seeing him go out like this.

My favorite actor ever, but yeah. This is brutal. If I felt like taking the time I'd photoshop him in a Washington Wizards jersey but you get the picture.

But as for this film, obviously will be a huge bucket of shit, but I like how everyone's focusing on DeNiro and Stallone and not catching the other major issue, that it's being written by Doug fucking Ellin.

Make no mistake, DeNiro still has sparks of greatness....

He just needs to stop whoring himself out. From 2010 to the end of this year he will have been in 16 different movies.

Scorsese's "The Irishman" is going to give us one last classic performance from De Niro and Pacino. Pesci too. Starts filming next year.
