Leroy 'Sugarfoot' Bonner of The Ohio Players Passed Away

The founder of the legendary funk band died over the weekend at his home at the age of 70. He was in ill health for years after several strokes. One of the baddest funks icons EVER.

Any Ohio Players fans in here?

Yes, i love funk music and its largely forgotten these days. Sure some rappers sampled the genre in some songs but not many still listen to it.

Cant say that I listen to much funk but most of the music I do listen to is heavily influenced by and has a lot of funk elements. R.I.P.

Sad to hear this. I like Ohio Players, but a friend of mine is a huge fan. Don't listen to funk as much as I used to but had some going a few nights ago. My kids just shook their heads & called me old.
