    i groaned the wire dislike

i get why people would feel the wire is boring. I almost didnt get it either. you have to get through the 1st 10 shows before it will grab you. And its not an easy thing to do. but once you get there it opens up for the rest of the series. And when your done watching you will go back and rewatch those first 10 shows and love them because now you get it

      RE: The James Bond Series...

I never got into it either...most because I never watched them (lulz)...but I decided to watch'em this past year...some are fucking amazing (Skyfall, for example)...some are just fun flicks (the Connery films)...and some fucking suck (the Moore and Brosnan films). Overall, the good far outweigh the bad. They are great standalone films.

      RE: The Big Bang Theory...

I've tried several times to get into it...and considering its a show that I should get into...it just fails every time.

There is plenty of stuff that isn't directed to me as an audience that I never got...Friends, Sex In The City, Twilight, soon to be Girls...but TBBT is weird because I should be that show's target demo.

      ---

Any weekly episodic show with a weekly "big bad"...mostly the crime dramas...the CSI's, the NCIS, Cold Case, Law and Order and all of their incarnations.

Also, weekly episodic shows with a disease or freak accident of the week...the hospital oriented shows...House, Grey's Anatomy, Private Practice, ER.

These shows...sure, I can dig'em if its a random afternoon and I'm just channel surfing and I stop on one...I can watch and move on, but I could never continuously watch these shows weekly.

      ---

Any "reality" based TV shows on channels that shouldn't show reality TV...Swamp People, Truckers, Coal Miners, Pawn Shop Owners, Junk Finders, whathaveyou...not "franchise" based...but can not fucking get into these awful shows. If you watch them, realize that you see the same thing twice for 45% of the show. Really awful entertainment.

The reality things like Pawn Stars and Storage Wars were cool till they got watered down like every other reality show. There is about 3-4 pawn shows, and Storage Wars has the main show and two spin offs, plus there is Auction Hunters, Storage Hunters and another one. (I lol at Storage Hunters basically just ripping their name from a combination of Storage Wars and Auction Hunters)

A friend and I were talking a few weeks back how A&E use to be a really good station, but now it is just all this storage stuff, or shipyard wars, or some kind of reality base thing. I remember back in the day my grandma watching it with Columbo and other old time shows, and they always had good bio's on and cool specials, but now it is just as bad as TLC.
All you need to know when thinking of the NHL vs Madden series is the two people involved in making the games.

        "rammer" and "cummings"

The NHL series is a giver, Madden takes the load.

How I Met Your Mother has the male version of Carrie in Ted. Ted even does voice-overs just like Carrie.

I don't think the spin-offs really have anything to do with it. The problem is the concept itself isn't designed to have a long shelf-life. I watched the original Storage Wars a lot, then I just got bored with it. It had nothing to do with the Texas Storage Wars spin-off...it was just after awhile only so many things could happen...Brandi argues with her husband, Dave outbids everyone, Barry buys an old suitcase filled with cobwebs, etc. The same is true IMO with Bar Rescue. These shows have enough material for one season, perhaps two if you really stretch it. But thats it.

              .
Did you watch until the end of the season ?
I basically quit on the show then urged to finish the season when it hit dvd.
8 seasons later I was a weepy mess at the series finale.
