    Low Winter Sun - AMC Show coming August 11th, Starring Mark Strong and Lennie James

    The cast alone is enough for me to be fully on board, I love these two actors...

      GoT dang it. I want Lennie on walking dead not a different show....btw that looks more like a tv movie than a series but we'll see.
      Best reason to have a license.

        Was a miniseries in Britain a few years back, it's been picked up as a regular series by AMC.

          Premiere's tonight and it's going fairly well so far.

          Another "Everyone's dirty in their own way" show for AMC but between this and Breaking Bad's ending season, Sunday Nights should be quality time for the rest of the summer and into the Fall.

          ================================================== ===================================

          So far, we've seen the our "hero" as he has to psyche himself into murdering a fellow officer; said dead officer's former partner and his means to cover up the murder...

          Also, we have a secondary story of a crew trying to make some fast money under the thumb of a local criminal outfit; with a month's worth of a score that should have went to their higher-ups, they have to figure out how to hide it or at least take out the ones that stand in their way.

          ================================================== ================================================

          With a cast of names I can associate from other shows I've seen them on, other movies, etc.... this could shape up to be a decent piece of
          television.

            2 things that might bring you back for next week:

            1.)

            Joe wiped Brendan's hard drive for a reason.

            Whatever Internal Affairs is looking for holds both of them complicit in some shit that has got to be pitch-black dark.

            Gonna be interesting to see if it's...

            2.)

            ...something to do with the body parts found in the trunk of the car Joe and Frank used to stage Brendan's fake suicide.

            If neither of them knew about them, shit's gonna get real.

            If Joe knew (and he should in some capacity because he told Frank about the chopped up body to psyche him up into killing Brendan with him), then it's a can of worms we're gonna hear about later.

              I stuck around to watch this originally just to see the sneak peak of next weeks Breaking Bad. Then the show intrigued me and I finished up the first episode. Needless to say I set my DVR to record this show weekly.

              Nice to see a David Costabile (Gale from BB) sighting as well. Sundays are definitely going to be awesome again with football starting back up as well.

                From what I hear of the critics I like to read, everyone of them say "I can't believe its not better than it is."

                Kinda disappointing.

                  If it's comparing the show to the original product from 2006 (?) and any of the other shows AMC had produced (or other stations like FX, USA and so forth...)...

                  They had one fucking episode to establish the A and B stories with a twist at the end that has us coming back for next week.

                  Finish the season, then shit on the product.

                    You do realize reviewers get a handful of episodes in advance and not just one. The perception I've got from the shows reviews are very similar to Ray Donovan, which was hot garbage. I'm still going to give it a shot, but its just disappointing to hear from the people that its not better than it is.

                      If I hear it's good from enough people I'll watch.

                      AMC gets no benefit of the doubt from me anymore.

                        Completely forgettable. Stash this one in the Rubicon file. Another miss for AMC, the network's batting average keeps getting lower with each time up.

                          AMC is last on the totem pole when these shows are pitched to networks...lets not act like they get carte blanche of shows to choose from end end up taking crap television half the time.

                            I never have. But you know certain viewers or reviewers give their new shows the benefit of the doubt because their first two shows were runaway smash hits and TWD is a commercial (if not critical) success.

                              That doesn't excuse the shows they have gotten and totally let go to shit like TWD and The Killing.

                              The only shows they don't exercise creative influence over are Mad Men and Breaking Bad and low and behold they are what keeps the lights on in the original programming department at AMC.
