Non-automotive guy: Drives car from point A to B.

Automotive guy: Goes for "spirited drives" that consist of drifting around corners at 3x the speed limit because they know speed limits are only there to keep noise low and reduce tire wear.

Seems to me like if Roger Rodas had been behaving like a non-automotive guy then he'd still be alive right now. But of course this is mere layman speculation.

He can see, that's why he took the time to post a TMZ article early in the thread. He's just an idiot playing his "too cool to care" shtick at the wrong time.

(CNN) -- The Porsche carrying actor Paul Walker was going 100-plus miles per hour when it crashed in November, according to the final coroner's report on the deaths of Walker and Roger Rodas.

The report was released on Friday by the Los Angeles County coroner's office.

Walker, who shot to fame as star of the high-octane street racing franchise "Fast & Furious," was in the passenger seat of a 2005 Porsche Carrera GT, driven by his racing team partner,

The vehicle slammed into a light pole and burst into flames in an office park in the community of Valencia in Santa Clarita, about 30 miles north of Hollywood.
That should settle that... "Automotive men" or not, going over 100 mph on surface streets in LA is asking something horrific to happen.

Wait, isn't the the same safety level as going 25?

Even with an apex of 90deg., an average performance car (I'll say a 4 cylinder Ford Focus ST off the top of my head) could handle a turn at 40-45 mph when taking the most efficient line. In fact, at 40-45mph one would be on the edge of even being able to pull the handbrake and initiate a drift around the corner (in the event one was really trying to be an idiot showoff) as speed would be too low to follow through and exit. He also worked right down the road, so one cannot argue he was unfamiliar with the area and driving it.

IMO, they were cruising around the corner as no one else was on the roadway at that time, and either the power steering line burst or a tire went. Either would be completely uncontrollable at any speed and either would have gone due to premature failure or defect as the car had less than 3k miles on it and can easily hold that speed and G's. This would also explain the lack of skid marks until closer to the cars final resting place (when they tried to avoid light/tree).

With that said, I'll fully expect all of you on your way to/from your homes today to ensure you're doing that 15mph on the on/off ramps or the 35mph on that gentle curve placed on the 55-60mph roadway........
This may be the most smug post I've ever seen on this forum and I'm not trying to be melodramatic.

You come across like a huge dbag. Spouting off useless information to show off your car knowledge and acting like it actually means anything. How gay are you?

Funny how you've shut your mouth once you realized you were completely wrong. You and maynard, two pussies in a pod. Get back here and admit you're an idiot.

It was the worst post of the year.

A bunch of nonsensical try hard nonsense, while every "non automotive man" in the thread knew exactly what went down (they were goofing off and driving too fast), based on the fucking fireball the car turned into when it wrapped itself around the tree.

                          Exactly. Quite hilarious, really.

Maynard was right, if it weren't for these two dip shits this forum would be really boring.

At the end of the day, driving at the speed Walker's friend was driving at was dangerous ... I don't care how technologically advanced his car was. And the car may be a technological marvel, but it is still controlled by a driver who might make a mistake.
