VSN 2013 Albums of the Year Lists/Discussion Thread

As discussed in the chatbox, we (Woy and I, maybe Nahste) decided this year it would be easier to make one megathread of everyone's album lists instead of having a dozen individual threads like in previous years. Seeing as we are not Complex.com, there is no need for one-album-per-post in here, just straight-up lists and discussion. Other than that there are no rules to this shit: you can rank as many albums as you want, write blurbs in Pitchfork vernacular, do honorable mentions, link songs on Youtube..whatever. If we get a lot of submissions in I will do some math and come up with the official VSN top 10 list but hopefully I'll be employed by then and won't have time to do that.

My list will be posted later tonight to start things off.

Now, for my "seeing them on tons of top lists, but they kind of suck or really suck or are way overrated" list...aka the #nonessentials...

Sad, I've only listened to less than a handfull of albums this year:

                        the 2 JT albums (loved)
Czarface by Inspecktah Deck, 7L, & Esoteric (very good)

Been meaning to get to: Lorde, Eminem, Action Bronson, Childish Gambino, Ghostface Killah, Kanye West, etc.

                          Larry killed it in here....

But fuck you all for not mentioning The National's new album.

Edit- I really don't get the Haim love.

Forgot about The National, that's definitely one, I'm sure there's a few others I've forgotten I just haven't really gone through and looked yet.

I wasn't sold on Haim right away, but the album convinced me, it's not groundbreaking or anything but it's definitely one of the better albums beginning to end I've heard this year.
