You can come east to Cambridge and we can go to the show together. I'll buy you so many pints that even you'd let Ryan Giggs sleep with your wife. (If you had a wife of course... and of course if you had a wife and and Giggs was your brother.... well you get the idea. It's a lot of pints we're talking about here.)
Well I'm hoping to see them at the Swn Festival in Cardiff in October and seeing as the trip from South Wales to Cambridge is a massive pain in the arse involving a route that goes via such illustrious locations as Solihull, Nuneaton and Kettering I think any future gig rendez-vous would be more practical in London.

I've always said that the mark of a true music fan is someone who will go to see a gig on their own and not give it a second thought. Most people I know think there's something wrong with me because of this. Telling people you are going to a show on your own is the social equivalent of telling people that you enjoy dressing up as Catherine Earnshaw and masturbating over pictures of squatting lepers.

Fuck knows what they will think of the trip I'm planning to make next year. A £200 ($330), 44 hour visit to a dull, nondescript suburb of Paris to see a 50-something Portuguese singer that nobody outside of France, Portugal or Croatia seems to have heard of before.

I've spent two years waiting for her to come to the UK to play but then I realised that her entire British fanbase is currently within the confines of my underpants so I will have to go out of my way to see her. Still, it means I'll get to spend two days seeing Paris in the Springtime, get to listen to some bloody excellent music and, best of all, get to sleep in a cheap hotel on an bland industrial estate 40 minutes from the centre of Paris.

      Can't wait.

I'm seeing We Were Promised Jetpacks at a brewery downtown Wednesday night, I'm pretty psyched.

So I thought the show started at 7 so I get there at 6:50 and nobody is there, I look at my ticket again and it says doors open at 7.....fuck, my fault. Opening band doesn't go on until 8:45 which is ridiculous, but I figure okay Jetpacks will go on at like 9:30 I'll be out by like 10:30 or so....nope, a second opening band comes on and plays for a while, Jetpacks don't come on until after 10:30 and at this point I'm tired and need to go home at sleep. So I stayed for the first half hour and heard "Medicine" and "Quiet Little Voices" before I peaced so I was happy.

Judas Priest last night, one of the best fucking concerts I have ever seen, nearly 2 1/2 hours, going so late they were playing Living After Midnight actually After Midnight. Totally fucking awesome, and this is coming from a guy who has seen Iron Maiden twice.

Black Label Society was there, again their usual great show.

and a so called band named Thin Lizzy, but with out Phil Lynott, its really not much reason to mention.

Went to see Future of the Left for the sixth time tonight; pretty damn excellent as always.

New song 'Robocop 4: Fuck Off Robocop' and a blinding rendition of Mclusky's 'Lightsabre Cocksucking Blues' were the highlights of the evening.

Picked up the new EP as well which should see me through until the new LP comes out next year.

Digging this out to brag about the M83 show I went to last night. Last show on their NA tour, and holy fuck was it amazing. I've been to that venue dozens of times, and the sound can always be muddled because it's really just a giant brick and concrete room. Whoever their sound engineer is deserves tons of credit as I could hear every instrument and lyric

I've seen some pretty good shows over the past few months. Willie Nelson, The Avett Brothers, Mickey Hart (with Dave Schools from Panic on bass) and even an Iron Maiden show. Looking very forward to Blondie and DEVO playing in Austin next week along with Grace Potter and the Nocturnals coming up in November.

Saw Maiden in July. Stage show was a lot of fun, and you can't really go wrong with Maiden
