Who is your favorite female artist?

I am trying to lean into the thread creation trend, and I have been listening to a ton of Regina Spektor in office hours lately. Who are your favorites, past, present and future?

Let it all hang out here. Guilty pleasures and otherwise. As for the former, full disclosure: I love the entire Lorde album, and almost anything Kelly Clarkson does.

I listen to quite a bit of female artists, but my favorite is probably Sara Bareilles. My last.fm has a ton of Warpaint, Christina Perri, Fiona Apple, Taylor Swift, ect plays.

My favorite female artist is Grace Potter followed by Stevie Nicks and Janis Joplin.

Bill, Stevie Nicks belongs above Grace...Grace always looks like she wandered off of a porno set.

I just realize I didn't include my own favorite, despite alluding to her. Regina Spektor is just amazing to me.

I'm talking about what I listen to today. Grace has more new stuff coming out and is red hot right now. Stevie and Janice both are better overall from a career perspective. I'm also VERY happy that Mick Fleetwood was somehow able to convince Christine McVie to come out of retirement for a full Fleetwood Mac reunion tour this year. I'll be at the show in Dallas this December

I almost only exclusively listen to female artists. I'm about to go to bed, so I can edit this with youtube clips on the morrow.

Regina Spektor is my favorite artist. That Time and Dance Anthem of the 80's are my two favorites. So different yet so very much what I love about her.

Other ones in my current rotation - St. Vincent, Angel Olsen, Ingrid Michaelson, Lorde, Yeah Yeah Yeahs to name a few.

Tomorrow I can add more. Gr8 thread.

                    edit -

                    Regina Spektor

St. Vincent (my favorite song from the album thus far is Huey Newton but I couldn't find a good non-live version)

                    Angel Olsen

Ingrid Michaelson (the catchiest song in the history of mankind)

                    Lorde

Yeah Yeah Yeahs / Karen O

                    Company of Thieves

                    Lucinda Williams

alanis morissette - when she was popular back in the day i could stand her. but over time i have found that her voice and range in singing is awesome. i enjoy her older stuff now. plus, at 39 she is fucking hot

I less than 3 "That Time" so much. Dance Anthem of the 80's is fucking amazing too. Thankful for your current rotation too...good suggestions.

Strong call. All the Leave Are Gone is gold.

                            No love for Bjork though?

Right now ... Hannah Reid of London Grammar. Love that band and album.

As voices go, Harriet Wheeler of The Sundays, then Kate Bush.
