I'm still gonna watch it, but I hardly anticipate episodes. They're on DVR and I usually watch the next day. Ray Donovan, to me, has become much more interesting. I almost always watch it live now.My Twitch video link: http://www.twitch.tv/dave374000

Im a fan of dramas so I like this show. It is pretty slow but still interesting. Its got The returned feeling to it sorta. Read somewhere we get straight answers to where everyone went which kinda sucks but still gonna stick with it.Comment

Season 1 Episode 9
This Flashbacks episode was good. Crazy seeing everyone so happy before The Departure. Also Patti having thoughts of "The End of The World" at this time.

This dude had an interesting theory.
The Guilty Remnant. This is just a quick thought I had, at least about the name of the cult and just about people who disappeared, in general. What we saw was most of the people who disappeared, someone probably wanted them gone. Let's think real quick:
1) Kevin probably felt guilty about banging that hot conference woman, so she disappeared mid-thrust. 2) Nora's kids and husband were all being very obnoxious and unhelpful. All three disappeared. 3) Laurie's unplanned fetus. Gone.
Hell, we can even look at other characters. The mother from the first episode (who also made a cameo in this one) was dealing with her wailing baby... Which also disappeared.
To me, it seems that those who disappeared were either unwanted at that time, and it was all a spontaneously granted wish. The name of The Guilty Remnant is based on how the members feel guilty about wanting their specific Departured to just go away, while they remain.
Thoughts? Additions?
Edit: Let me add how this supports Matt's idea that this isn't the Rapture because of the unsavory people that also disappeared... People who were probably unwanted at the time. ("She beat her kids!" "He's a child molester!")
Double Edit: I appreciate all the responses so far. While I'm not certain this whole "negative thoughts" theory is solid, I do feel a correlation between that and the disappearances. As for the GR purpose/name, I think we've got that nailed by now. Let's just hope next episode doesn't tear our minds apart.
my thoughts
Maybe that's why everyone is so fucked up after the departure because of that guilty conscious.
When people go visit Wayne, he somehow takes away that guilty feeling. Because they never forget their departed, they just feel better after meeting him.
Watching tonight's episode and reading this theory got me to thinking. A lot of people were in a mindset "If only, what would life be without _____"
The lady in the car with the crying baby in the car while on the phone.
The old folk with the kid with Down syndrome. It must be hard to take care of him your whole life.
Laurie not really wanting the baby.
