Agreed. It also seems that the people who are loved the most are the ones that suffer from depression. I've had 2 friends commit suicide over the years and both of them were among the most outgoing and funny people I have ever known.

As someone who suffers from depression/anxiety, I can tell you it is an act a lot of the time. It definitely took/takes years of learning how to deal with it so from the outside you appear fine and nobody is any wiser.

Fortunately I was never scared/afraid to share how I was feeling so I don't have to keep it all bottled up.

It blows my mind people think you can just flip a switch and magically you'll be okay.

A report says (via a "friend) that he had been having money issues, forcing him to take on roles he wouldn't normally want (Doubtfire 2, the TV series that was canceled among them). The man had been through two divorces and despite all his success may have been struggling financially in his 60s?

Throw in his addictions and depression, its a terrible combination.

In that AMA is a paraphrase from Conan that the funnier you appear to be the more you hate yourself inside.

This isn't uncommon. Men commit suicide at 4x the rate of women and that number jumps post divorce. If I had divorce settlements totalling $20 million and had less access to my children I'd fucking hang myself too.
So, metaphorically speaking, our physiology basically has the universe mapped out and you're thinking it needs to be taught addition & subtraction.

His wife said he was in the early stages of Parkinsons, too.

Plus, a story about his love for gaming.

In between filming his movies, television shows and doing stand-up comedy, Robin Williams would spend countless hours playing videogames -- in fact he considered himself a "huge" gamer, even naming his only daughter after the princess in Nintendo's "The Legend of Zelda.

Parkinson's is a horrible disease. We will never know what finally pushed him over the edge but having seen how much of a burden someone with Parkinson's can be to their loved ones as the disease professes, I can see how somebody would want to spare their family from that situation.

Had no idea he was such an avid gamer. I like him even more now.
