strange that he died from a pulmonary disease that was a result of him the smoking - a habit he quit like 30 years ago?

love the original star trek too.

I missed 2 chances to interact with him. Always kicked myself over it. Like Robin Williams one of the few guys I always heard nothing but great things about. Spock is an all timer and Nimoy was always gold. Like many Star Trek and in particular his character sparked a love for sci-fi , his character was basically an alien with ass-burgers , he gave generations of introverted nerds an icon to love and for many idolize. Trekkies were IMO the original hardcore nerds and Nimoy is the main reason for it.
