lol just read that 2 minutes ago and was gonna post about it.

Ortiz doesnt compare to Sabathia. Sabathia was just coming off of a Cy Young season so teams knew he can pitch and his numbers werent all that bad. Ortiz on the other hand is coming off two straight seasons where he has been injured and is playing like pure crap right now. Manny was playing like crap (well actually just lied about injuries and didnt play) in his final days in Boston to get out and there were little offers for him. The Red Sox even had to trade away 2 young players and pay some of Mannys contract just to get him out. With all that being said I dont think Ortiz will be traded this year because 1. His contract, 2. The Red Sox wont get anything in return.

            I'm sad.

People must really hate the Red Sox if they can still cheer whenever Papi strikes out.

I think the minor leaguer who was traded for like 18 bats last year was worth more than Ortiz now.

at this point I think the only thing left to do is pout him on the DL and have him go through some "rehab" in the minors...would they be allowed to do that though?

Ortiz reminds me of Brett Boone. Dude lost tons of weight, and his swing with it. Ironically, it was the time that testing for roids began.

No they can't. He's making 12.5 million this year and next year with a team option for 2011. No one's going to trade for 25 million dollars worth of uselessness.

His mechanics are so far off at this point its pretty ugly to watch. Need to bring back his old hitting coach.

                          Ortiz-
"You know what? I've been thinking about getting my eyes checked, for real," said Ortiz, who occasionally wears glasses. "There have been some situations that something has happened to my eyes, my vision. But I'm planning on getting my eyes checked out sometime soon . . . just to make sure.

"We get our eyes checked every year. I'm 20-20. Go and check it out. It's not anything big. I will, though. I seriously will."

                          Hey, you might as well

Ortiz and Manny were buddies. When Manny had his little fiasco last year and the front office went to the team vets asking what they should do with Manny, Ortiz said that he should be traded.

                                Out of shape, old.
                                He's done.
He'll never have to buy another drink in Boston again.
His legend is safe. He has nothing to be ashamed of.
If he lied about his age, who cares. If someone told me lying about my age would make me millions, I was born in 1983.
