    Biggest FA's this off-season?

i am really hoping Phillies pick up one of those pitchers wit pat burrel's salary gone after this season...with such a good young infield and cole hamels could use some help in the starting rotation...ya know the yanks will go hard for sabbathia

I rather have the Phillies heavilly pursue Manny Ramierez. Manny in our ballpark would be amazing, he would hit 45 HRs and 135 RBI's, it wouldn't even be fair. If they could get Manny and AJ Burnett then this team is set for next season and would be even better.
Manny is the best free agent along with CC and Derek Lowe.

well im thinking realistic here...we WILL NOT pursue manny...we have enough power really and if your watching the game right now...we could use another "ace" and then work from there it has to be top priority and then maybe an upgrade at 3rd and an outfielder would be awesome but im not sure i would want us to give manny so much i mean we could get lowe and a good fielder for the price manny wants

        It's baseball... therefore:

        Red Sox
        Yankees
        Dodgers
        Cubs
        Mets
        Angels

These teams will all be in the market for the big guys, while everyone else tries to get something done through trades (ie: Peavy to Houston). There might be another handful of teams who will make one strong push for a big time player (Toronto/Philly/etc.) but I'm expecting CC to end up in pin stripes, KRod and Manny to stay put, and Sheets to head into the NL East.

I really hope so, Yankees pitching is just terrible.

Rocky Mountain News - The Phillies, Mets, Yankees and Blue Jays are being mentioned as possible suitors, in addition to the Dodgers, for potential free-agent outfielder Manny Ramirez.

wow that is a shock to me... i seriously doubt we would seriously go after manny tho, but the phillies line-up would by far be the most feared in major league baseball if we did get him, but im not banking or even hoping for it lol

Manny in a Phillies jersey? That would be amazing.

Eh, to be honest I think Manny is over that whole east coast "crazy fan paranoia," shit. He got way too much of that in Boston. Only way he ends up back in that area IMO is if a lot of money is thrown out on the table and he just can't refuse.

I'm going to go ahead and predict the Angels or Dodgers.

Dodgers offered him a deal that pays him second to only A-Rod

Hopefully Baltimore makes a push for a big time starter without baggage a la Kris Benson.

If the Cubs can't do one of the following:

                          1) Resign Dempster
                          2) Trade for Jake Peavy

....consider Lowe a Cub in 2009.
