Wieters called a great game tonight, but he did struggle at the plate. That is to be expected, give him some time and he will be great.
Matt Wieters Getting Called Up Friday

Yeah, it has to be hard trying to match a performance with the person batting ahead of you. It's crazy how one person can make a stadium go from 10,000 fans yesterday, to 43,000 the next day. I am getting excited about this team, with the nice young lineup we have, bringing Reimold up who has already hit 5 homeruns in just 15 games of being in the ML and Mora has only hit 2 the whole season. Wieters will improve from tonight's performance, Scott with back to back multiple HR games, and Adam Jones, who was one of Seattle's top prospects who came over in the Bedard trade. Our pitching has improved also, and we also have a few nice minor league pitchers still to come up in Tillman, Arrieta, and Matusz. Five game win streak, hopefully we can keep it up.Comment

He's not going to be better than Joe Mauer, IMO, but he's definitely looking like a stud.
With Martin, McCann, Mauer and now Weiters, the catcher position is pretty loaded with young talent. Then there's also Napoli, Iannetta and possibly Saltalamacchia.Last edited by NAHSTE; 05-30-2009, 01:01 AM.Comment

He's actually considered huge for a catcher.

It's still scary to know that the O's have Chris Tillman that they can call up whenever they want. The 21 year old pitcher is 5-0 in AAA Norfolk with a 2.13 ERA and a 44/13 K:BB Ratio. The Orioles just have a lot of good young talent.
Oh and then I almost forgot their other pitcher Brian Matusz, the 22 year old Left Handed Pitcher they have. He is in Class A ball right now and has a 2.70 ERA and has 65 Ks to 19 walks.
Not enough can be said about the O's batting, but once they develop these young pitchers this is going to be one nice team.Last edited by Obst; 05-30-2009, 01:44 AM.Comment

Originally posted by MVPeteSalty's arm is ridiculous. I get all the Rangers games out here and I can't remember the last time someone stole off him. If someone does swipe a bag from him it's usually the pitchers fault.
