    Hey Phillies....

so your only 1 and a half above the Mets...who currently start this lineup...

Cora, Castillo, Wright, Church, Tatis, Martinez, Evans, Schneider

mr i drop fly balls Castliio
mr I ground into DP Tatis
    Mr i'm not ready Martinez

with a rotation of Johan, Pelfrey, Livan, Redding and Nieve

with Reyes, Beltran, Delgado, Putz, Pagan, Sheffield, Maine and Perez all out with injury or DL..

    WHAAA?

Listen "fighting Phils"...you guys are playing garbage baseball and have most of your guys playing aside from Ibanez for a week, and 3 relievers...

I'd love to have the Mets healthy to kick y'all asses...a bunch of overachieving bums who can't play at home.

Just wait a few more weeks...Phillies should be 7-8 games ahead...keep fucking around with the division....

Lawl the Phillies are garbage at home, getting damn near swept by 3 AL East teams.

They'll prob get their shit together and win the division still.. but you gotta feel for the Mets whos team is pretty much decimated by injuries.

I was gonna post something taunting the entire league, but I decided being the Red Sox fan I am, I didn't want to jinx it.

I give the Mets credit for hanging in there despite their injuries. Phillies have had their share too, but the Mets have def had it worse.

Phillies are just playing bad baseball right now, but they'll turn it around. In fact, the biggest lead the Phils had was only 4 games and for the Mets to only gain 2.5 games despite the Phils playing their worst ball of the year is pretty sad.

Mo, you know you're my boy but I can't believe you would start this thread knowing the mental midget Mets collapse in September every year.

PS - Phils are in first place despite a league worst ERA, a depleted bullpen(who was missing their left handed setup man for the first 50 games), Jimmy Rollins not showing up at all and 2 rookies and a 46 year old in the starting rotation. That's pretty amazing in itself.

it's gonna catch up to them this year...pitching is going to keep them down...too many holes with that staff that's keeping them on the same road as the other teams in the NL East. Moyer, Happ, Blanton, that lefty...there's 4 question marks, 3 of which haven't had a solid run of good starts. It's why the Mets will take this...they are getting good runs from Johan, Livan, Nieve, Pelfrey.

You think it's sad but I pretty much believe if the Phillies lost Rollins, Howard, Werth, Victorino, Blanton, Moyer and Madson, they would be GAMES under .500. Mets have lost crazy guys and are now 1 game out. Like I said, Phillies time to step up is now because once the reinforcements come back, it's a wrap.

LOL, its a wrap based on what? The last 2 seasons?

The Phils had the best bullpen in the league last year, I expect them to improve as the season goes on. The starters are starting to come around, too, and I expect them to make a trade for someone because Bastardo isn't ready yet. The key is Lidge returning and being the Lidge of last year(I don't mean perfect, but not what he's doing this year so far).

It's still too early to get all hype and start crowning division champs, there's way too much baseball left to be played. I'm not going to let one bad stretch of baseball make me think this division isn't the Phillies to win. They are clearly the best team in the division, they just aren't playing like it right now.

It'll probably come down to the last couple weeks again, but when it's all said and done and both teams are healthy, the Phils will win the division again.

No, they're not clearly the best team in the division by any stretch of the imagination. The only facet of their team that's better than anyone else in the NL East is their offense, and even that's debatable compared to a healthy Mets offense. The Phillies pitching staff is pure trash outside of Cole Hamels and a handful of relievers.

Personally the debate between the Mets and Phillies seems kind of pointless anyway since the team that both teams should be worried about is the Braves. Their pitching staff is better than both the Mets and Phillies. Their bullpen is dominant between Soriano and Gonzalez. Moylan had a bad April but has been effective lately. They got a strong rotation with Lowe, Vazquez, Jurrjens, Hanson, and Kawakami.

If the Braves can manage to get any kind of offense going in the second half of the season they will win the division.

Like I said, I'm not going to let one bad stretch of baseball change my thinking. You could very well be right, but once they get out of this funk, they should continue to lead the division.

Also, outside of Santana, the Mets rotation is full of question marks. So is their bullpen outside of K-Rod and Feliciano and maybe 1 or 2 others.

Braves offense just isn't good enough to compete, IMO.

Wow...this reminds me of the Phils/Mets game I was at this year where a Mets fan was taunting the Phils saying "Who did they beat in the World Series? The Rays!"

Really? Who did the Mets beat in the playoffs, let alone the World Series, last year?

I love the rivalry, but let's not taunt until you win. Lord would think a Mets fan would have learned that by now.

lol of course y'all gonna talk about last year. I was never worried about the Phils...we beat them head to head last year...that was the Mets own demons that prevented them from getting to the playoffs.

They fixed the bullpen for the most part and it's doing solid right now. The staff has been pitching well actually and has kept the Mets in it. If anything it has taught the mets different ways of winning.

This year is different. Phils lose AGAIN tonight and are only up 1/2 game on the Mets AAA squad. You gotta be concerned about the Phils staff...they still need at least 2-3 SP and that's not feasible in this market.

Mets need another bat and a bullpen arm and their guys to get healthy...much more feasible than the Phils problems.

Phillies also have the most losses in baseball history too so STFU.
