Mariano Rivera Gets First RBI Of Career

Wow, I feel like I just saw history on a baseball field. This, in my opinion, was better than watching A-Rod pass Mr. October in all-time home runs. Mariano Rivera just got his first ever RBI in his illustrious career.

He didn't even have to hit the ball either, which makes it even better. With the bases loaded, Rivera came up to bat, facing the National League's best closer Francisco Rodriguez. And what does K-Rod do, but walk him. This gave Mo his first ever RBI. What a way for a guy to get it.

Oh yeah, and this is on the night that he got his 500th career save.

Definitely fun to watch. It was even better seeing the Yanks (especially Jeter) dugout laughing their asses off. Big congrats to Big Mo though, one of the best to ever play the game.

I'm just waiting for that Jeter .gif of him smiling and looking towards the dugout like "You know who's batting behind me right?" it was priceless. Thanks to anyone who can find or create one. ;)

yes that was great. i didnt think anything could beat Castillo dropping the ball in a Mets vs. Yanks game but this just topped that.

Yea, I'm bout to play some MLB 09 The Show right now, but I just set SportsCenter to record cause I want to hear that Sunday Conversation. I honestly don't think he woulda came anywhere close to Trevor. Mo's just a classy guy that doesn't care bout the stats. His post-season saves record will stand for quite some time though.

Fuck K-Rod.. I had the cash on the Mets +1.5 tonite and all that fucker had to do was throw strikes to Mo and he walked him. How can the supposed "best closer in baseball" walk an opposing closer with 2 outs and the bases loaded? Just fucking throw a strike man..

                          So brutal..

He doesn't have to, He's already the greatest closer the game has ever seen, and i'm not just saying this because i'm a Yankees fan. Mo has been CLUTCH for 13 years, pitched in a tougher division and league (AL) - not to add the 4 championships he has under his belt.

                              Take notes 2009 closers.
