I hope they do get him. If we have to trade Ellsbury to get him then so be it. On a lot of the talk shows they have been saying if they did acquire Hanley that they would be try to play him in center field. Which is why Ellsbury would be involved in the trade.

If we didnt trade him away then we wouldnt of gotten Josh Beckett and Mike Lowell. Which means we probably wouldnt of won the 2007 world series because both made a huge impact on the team. -
Originally posted by Stat_BoyThat would be a great lineup. I just don't think that Boston should give up Ellsbury for him. Boston's getting old, quick. I think they should offer one of thier star vet's and another lesser vet for Hanley. If the Marlins can't handle the money, than give some cash too. I know that sounds like alot, 2 players and money. But you'll be getter one of the best speedsters in the league, and you'll be getting younger for the future.
hanley is arguably the best player in the mlb
two vets and cash wont cut it
think along the lines of bucholz, ellisbury + a lot

they did what they had to do trade vets for who they thought were going to be stars, and HanRam was just that if not more
now tell me how an organization like the Marlins, who would only prosper from bringing in young players with small salaries in order to make a winning team would trade 25 year old star Hanley Ramirez for two vets?

Marlins get raped because they fucking firesale the entire roster every time they win a series.
Marlins are getting a new stadium down here because Huizenga (Marlins/Dolphins) owner is a fucking douchebag.Comment

the marlins would NEVER accept that....EVER
if you actually believe that you know NOTHING about baseball

yes i read your post and my post made complete sense in reply to it
with a team thats looking to slash payroll and is constantly looking to get younger
why in the world would they trade a 24 year old superstar for two vets
hes the face of their franchise, they just gave him a 6 year extension this year

Not that I wanted that to happen... :ice:Comment

I disagree a lil bit. As long he comes to a full recovery I think he will be a solid bat this year for the sox. The only thing I see that may decrease is his fielding.Comment

i wholeheartedly agree with heel
all of his stats were declining last year, did terrible in the playoffs, and is coming off an injury
i can definitely see the red sox picking up a joe crede or a juan encarnacion or shipping lowell before the season starts

He still was on of the redsox best run producers last year. Of course he did terrible in the playoffs because he was injured and should of never been on the post season roster to begin with. As long as he is healthy I think he can still have a batting average between 270 and 300.Comment

113 | 419 | 58 | 115 | 17 | 73 | 2 | .274 | .338 | .461 |
you seriously think joe crede or encarnacion couldnt get better than those numbers?
for a guy making that much, getting those stats for a "starter" on the red sox, should be a role player, nothing more

Whos to say Joe Crede or Encarnacion could handle the pressures of playing in Boston. I rather have a guy that I know what I am going to expect then someone who could just flop under the pressre of playing in Boston. What I believe the redsox can get out of Lowell is a batting average between 270 and 300, around 20 homeruns, and around 100 RBI's depending if he is healthy which I believe he will be once the season starts. I believe the whole texiera thing put a bad thing on Lowell because now everyone thinks he is all washed up.
listen, lowell had a great career, but its in its final days
bold = impossible
