The thing is, the Marlins situation was different. They were making no money/still aren't making money so they can't afford to keep all the high profile stars on their team. Its just the nature of a small market team. The Pirates on the other hand are just trading away all their young guys instead of atleast letting them play their tenure out in Pittsburgh.

LaRoche is pretty solid defensively. You might have a drop off is TI is the best rated...AL isn't that bad at all.

also AL is a 2nd half hitter...so the best is yet to come with him.

I just wish we could start building a winning team. There's no reason for half these trades. Our outfield was fucking sick before the Nady/Bay trades. Then they part ways with McLouth the face of the franchise. I'm happy with Cutch don't get me wrong but how long until he's gone?

              I don't think they've had a winning season since I was like 3 or 4. FML

Mclouth is really the only young guy they traded. Sanchez and Wilson are both 31 and probably wont resign with a Pirates anyways.

they should, it will make up for the Red Sox giving them Freddy Sanchez and Mike Gonzalez for pretty much nothing.
