Jays open to offers for Halladay

Wish the Braves weren't such cheap asses.. a Halladay-Hanson 1-2 punch would be nasty

Blue Jays general manager J.P. Ricciardi says he's willing to listen to offers for ace Roy Halladay.

I don't see the Blue Jays trading in their own division; they'll have to face him atleast 3-4 times a year & that's something NO team wants on their schedule.

I say he ends up somewhere in the NL; The Mets don't have the pieces to acquire him, tough break. (lawlz)

I'm guessing he'll end up on the Phillies, Dodgers, Cardinals or Cubs.

I read somewhere that they would consider dealing him to the division. Of course the trade will have to involve a lot more though.

Boston has the prospects for a deal but I can't see Toronto trading a great pitcher to a team within their division.

                  The Golden Turducken
Season 1: 11-5 (Super Bowl Champion)
Season 2: 12-4 (NFC West Champion)

                  Season 3: 9-4

Alfonso Soriano and Rich Harden for Halladay.

                    I'd love it.

Vazquez, Escobar and Shafer for Halladay? I can see it now.

                      Halladay-Hudson-Hanson: Preparation H.

I could maybe see a three way trade come in. Boston Sends Penny somewhere for a prospect. Then Boston sends that prospect along with Buchholz, and maybe Lowrie, Bowden, or Bard (either Bard or Bowden not both) to Toronto and Halladay comes to the Red Sox.

But doubt that happens because Epstein would probably not want to trade all his pitching prospects

                        But I can hope........

Halladay ain't going unless it's a monster offer for a top prospect

Right now, the team most aggressively searching for a front-line starting pitcher is the Philadelphia Phillies, who no doubt would covet Halladay for their particular park for his ability to generate ground balls and missed swings -- he has a ground ball/fly ball ratio of 1.30, to go along 98 strikeouts in 116 innings this season. The question about the Phillies -- as it is with most teams these days, when the value of young players has never been higher -- is whether they would be willing to give up what the Jays would require in trade. - Buster Olney

Amaro didn't return phone calls yesterday, but one member of his inner circle said the Phils were serious about pursuing Halladay, who has a career record of 141-68, and described the prospect of getting him as "exciting."
