Toronto GM J.P. Ricciardi says his deadline for Roy Halladay will be sooner than the July 31 MLB deadline, according to the New York Times. He says this is because the team will have to be blown away by a offer.

Last night, Angels GM Tony Reagins responded to reports that the Angels were out of the running for Roy Halladay by saying they "haven't ruled out anything." ESPN The Magazine's Buster Olney, however, has noted that the Angels are all but out of it. ESPN's Peter Gammons also reported this.

Gammons reported Monday that the Dodgers are in on Halladay but won't trade their top young players and want the Blue Jays to pick up a lot of the money owed to Halladay for this year. So how are they going to make a deal? Well, they imposed similar conditions but still pulled off trades for Casey Blake and Manny Ramirez last year, so never say never.

4:50pm: Ed Price of AOL FanHouse hears that the Jays are considering trading Halladay to the Phillies for Kyle Drabek, Michael Taylor, Jason Donald and Lou Marson. However, no deal appears to be close.

Know this: Halladay has told people that the Phillies are his preferred choice if he were to be traded. The Blue Jays want pitchers J.A. Happ and Kyle Drabek and one of two outfield prospects: Michael Taylor or Dominic Brown. - MLBTradeRumors.com

It looks like the deal is:

Halladay to Philly for Drabek, Dominic Brown, Jason Donald and an older player possibly a pitcher

I doubt it gets done without Happ in the deal. The deal you mentioned would be great for the Phillies, though.

I think you're lost. This is the Roy Halladay thread. The Pittsburgh Pirates trading for Roy Halladay? Roy Halladay waving his NTC to go to Pittsburgh?

                    The latest:

If the Blue Jays' asking price for Roy Halladay is J.A. Happ, top pitching prospect Kyle Drabek and high-ceiling outfield prospect Dominic Brown, the Phillies aren't buying.

Cliff notes: Phils' don't want to include Happ AND Drabek...trying to sub Carrasco in for one of the 2 pitchers the Jays want. There's 7 or 8 names being thrown around and they're trying to work on a match.

Fuck that.. I dont want Carrasco anymore. The whole point is to rape the Phillies so we give ourselves the best chance to actually win the deal. If the Phils dont wanna give up everything we want.. fuck em.. hold on to Doc.

Carrasco is leading the AAA in strikeouts and is still only 22 years old. I rather give up Happ and Drabek, then Carrasco and Drabek. Oh well, I hope we do whatever it takes to get Halladay. I heard that conversations between the Jays and Phillies have become "intense". I think that there is a real good chance that come Wednesday we will see Roy Halladay taking on the D'Backs in a Phils uniform.
