who do you guys think should participate in this years HR Derby?

remember its 4 for the A.L and 4 from the N.L

2. Ryan Howard
3. Prince Fielder
4. Adrian Gonzalez

I know Howard, Gonzalez, Pujols, and Fielder are confirmed for the NL but for the AL I wouldnt mind seeing Bay, Morneau, Hunter, and I would really like to see Ichiro compete in it. Heard he puts them out a lot in batting practice

All the guys that should be taking part in the AL are either not in the All-Star game or not going (Morneau), which is lame. The NL will put on a show.. all 4 of those guys can crank bombs. I expect Albert to take it at home tho.

I would love to see Ichiro take part in this.. especially over Inge. You always hear them say he could hit more HRs if he wanted to, id like to see him in a HR showcase to atleast solidify that statement a little bit.

Yes, Ichiro was indeed offered a chance to participate in next week's Home Run Derby at the All-Star Game at Yankee Stadium. He was approached earlier this week by MLB officials and said he'd get back to them on it. An MLB source revealed this, so I asked Ichiro -- through his interpreter, Ken Barron -- what was up.

"Yes, I was asked,'' he confirmed to me earlier today. "But because of my hamstring, I decided not to participate.''
