            Giants

Angels were very close to being number 5 but with Hunte and Vlad going on the DL I would put them number 6.

Don't get me wrong, the Rays are a fine team, but I think people are just holding onto last year by saying they are a top five team right now.
Agreed. First, based purely off standings, the Rays are a third place team. Automatically then the Sox and Yankees are also going to have to be in your top 5. Dodgers are automatically in, so you have 4 out of 5 teams right there. So the Rays are a better team than the Giants, Tigers, Phillies, and Rangers, who all have better records. The Rays are a top 10 team, but they only really have dominated in Interleague play. The are 18-13 against the AL East, but under .500 against the Central and West.

The Dodgers are still on a tear, the Red Sox have been strong all year, and the Yankees are finally coming into shape, except for this past series against the Angels. The Phillies are 9-1 in the last 10, and though they are playing in a now weak divison, they have played well against the National League.

How has nobody mentioned the Rangers, but are mentioning the Angels? Angels pitching staff has been awful thusfar and their two best hitters are on the DL.

I'm liking the Rangers if they can land another arm.

the angels staff were plagued with injuries in the beginning of the year

And because of those injuries, Lackey and Santana are pitching like shit right now. Don't think that them being plagued with injuries makes them any more deserving to be a top 5 team.

Especially not now with Vlad and Hunter on the DL. Rangers have a better record and a better lineup than LAA, and their pitching is about equal unless Santana and Lackey return to form quick.

Rangers dont have a better record. They are 1.5 games back of the Angels.
