What team has had the best offseason?

All the championship contenders are making every move stacking their teams, but who has had the best offseason so far?

Heres the top of my list for the contenders

    1. CLE
    2. ORL
    3. BOS
    4. SA

For the teams in Rebuilding mode

    1. DET
    2. WAS
    3. GS

i put GS on the list despite not making moves..Just mainly because i think getting curry is the best thing that could have happened to them.. i just like that team for some reason after watching their younger stars in summer league

San Antonio had the best all around off season.

The addition of Richard Jefferson should take some heat off the big 3... it gives them another scorer for when that offense gets stale. They also got the biggest steal of the draft. If Blair's knees hold up, he will play tough on defense and make an impact on the boards. And people are sleeping on McClinton, the dude can score and I wouldn't be surprised if he finds himself in a role off the bench next season. Don't forget about the acquisition of Antonio McDyess, he can still put the ball in the hoop. He played 34MPG, 13PPG, 8RPG last season... not bad for a 36 year old.

#2 - Washington got the most out of what was given to them. They got two quality starters out of the #5 pick. Mike Miller is still a good role player who can play the 2 or 3 and add instant offense off the bench. And Foye who kind of went under the radar in Minnesota, is a playmaker who should excel in a faster pace offense.

Of course this is all irrelevant if Gilbert doesn't see the court:fad:

#3 - Boston had a nice off season with Sheed and Daniels but didn't have enough to work with in the draft. They are banking on KG's health more than anything.

#4 - Cleveland didn't get all that better imo. I know they got Shaq but this is going to slow down the offense even more, you better hope Lebron doesn't drive the lane and run into a 300lb Diesel. They also overpaid side show bob and didn't address the biggest flaw on defense.

#5 - Orlando got Vince Carter but gave up a huge part of their team in Hedo. I'm still on the fence whether I think its an upgrade or if they took a step back.

The Cavs desperately need another athletic swingman with size and defensive abilities to play alongside Lebron.

If they could have snagged Ariza in the off season or even Dahntay Jones, I would have felt a lot more comfortable putting them higher on the list.

Anthony may be an upgrade but not a big enough upgrade in my books.

        1. San Antonio - Getting Jefferson, Dice, Blair while shedding the dead weight makes for a good challenge in the west

2a. Boston - getting Sheed is huge, adding marquis daniels was also a signifigant upgrade off the bench from Tony Allen. If they also retain big baby they could possibly go 10 deep which will really take the miles off the older starters during the season, leaving them fresh for the playoffs.

2b. Orlando- losing hedo really wont hurt with the replacement of carter, as his role in the offense would of been diminished with VC in the lineup if he had been resigned. keeping gortat, who will be either a big contributor off the bench or one hell of a trade piece come deadline time, while adding a young Brandon Bass, a young Ryan Anderson, a veteran in Matt Barnes and possibly a solid young backup PG in CJ Watson (offer sheet has not been signed yet.) the magic IMO have had a helluva good offseason. I like most of the moves because not only did they bring in solid players, but young ones that can still improve there games while also fitting into stan vans system.

        3. Cavs - I liked the anthony parker signing, gives another shooter in the lineup with lebron and shaq, I however did not like the jamario moon signing, saw him play alot in miami and he disappears all too often, but the cavs seem to think he can be the defender off the bench, so we'll see what happens with that. Shaq is an obvious upgrade at center , itll be interesting to see how lebrons game changes this year with shaq being down on the block it may limit his drive opportunities, but most likely, the adjustment period will be fast and the two will play well together, I can see alot of lebron dunks off of shaq passes from the post this season. For the cavs to win the east IMO they have to get a power forward who can shoot the mid range J, resigning andy to that amount of money IMO was the worst offseason move of the year, and if they could get a 4 that can play along shaq and hit the J (ala haslem/Horace Grant) then the team can be deadly, obvious top 3 east team, dont know if they will beat orlando or boston this season without another piece.

LA- will move to spot 1 if they resign lamar odom.

Thats why they signed Anthony Parker

          1984 Record: 44-38 (9th in west)
          1985 Record: 42-40 (7th in west; 1st round exit)
1986 Record: 51-31 (3rd in west; swept in finals)

The Grizzlies theme this season should be : "This Season, We're Doing It For The Lulz"

AP can hold his own on D.. he isnt a liability like Delont West was because of his size. AP was guarding the best player on the other team on most nights (before Marion got here) and errr hes not an elite defender but he aint bad. The Cavs are already a great defensive team.. AP will only help improve on that.
