The Tigers acquired pitcher Jarrod Washburn from the Mariners, according to Mike Salk of ESPN radio in Seattle. Jon Paul Morosi of FOX Sports agrees, saying the Mariners will get Luke French and another prospect. MLB Network says the other prospect is Mauricio Robles (both are pitchers).
for those who don't believe 6 word thread starters^
good deal for the Tigers. They needed another consistent starter after Verlander and Jackson, and Washburn should fall right into line there. And the yankees didn't get him
Tigers didnt need him, but its great to get him for not a lot. French couldn end a being a really good starter so Seattle didnt just get nothing.
Now with Washburn we have the best starting 5 rotatino in baseball. Our worst pitcher is Gallaraga, but even he the last 6-7 games has found his stuff again. He went through that stetch where he went like 0-8 but his ERA last 6-7 has been under 3.
Just woke up and thought. "Tigers probably wont make a deal today. Well, maybe they will, actually." Then the Breaking News thing popa up on Sportscenter.
Tigers fans. I need to know if the Mariners got any value with the 2 guys we got from you guys.
French has actually been pretty solid for a rookie starter. Plus he's a lefty and young left handed pitchers are always good to have. I mean he isn't a phenom but its better than just losing Washburn in free agency.
Don't know anything about the other guy.
Definitely a good deal for the Tigers. Washburn will definitely help us since Porcello has hit the rookie wall. Three dominant pitches is always nice to have. Unfortunately our offense needs to figure something out if we want to make the playoffs.
