Wiffle ball rules. What are yours?

So I'm a huge wiffle ball fan. My buddies and I play during the week and like the way we play. We made a strike zone and use pickle balls and plastic Easton bats. I'm curious what you guys use and what rules you play by. We're looking at trying out the original Wiffle ball yellow bats and balls (thanks in part to this video: [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OoDK3L1cKa8"]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OoDK3L1cKa8[/ame] ).

Our rules are built for 3 on 3. We put down a single line (if the ball crosses the line it's a single), a double line, triples are off the wall and HR's are over the wall of course. We play fast pitch with 3 outs and no baserunning.
Runners advance pretty basically with a few siderules: If a runner is on first a ground ball fielded cleanly before the single line can be thrown at the strike zone and if it hits it it's a double play. If a runner is on third you can tag him on any fly ball (with less than 2 outs of course) with the outfielder throwing at the strike zone from wherever he catches it.
We play that if you walk a batter they don't take first base. Instead someone from their team gets to pitch a meat ball to them with the pitcher not allowed to play defense.

It's a ton of fun but we're looking to try some other methods. What rules do you guys play by? And where do you play (this is where our games suffer)?

Don't play wiffle ball. Used to pick up the little bat and wiffle ball as a kid at Wal-Mart and play batting practice with my dad, but that's about it.

      1. Don't talk about wiffle ball.
      2. Don't talk about wiffle ball.

We had people actually run, and to throw someone out, you just had to get the ball passed the base before they got there. It sure did have a lot of fights after awhile. lol
All you need to know when thinking of the NHL vs Madden series is the two people involved in making the games.

      "rammer" and "cummings"

The NHL series is a giver, Madden takes the load.

We thought about trying that but the fights, like yours, would be ridiculous. May try throwing the ball at the baserunner for the out.

We played wiffleball in middle school. And we had like 25 people on each team and it was crazy fun.

We usually play pitch to hit to make it less boring, u can still throw junk just not fast. We play with bases, Indian tag and all the basic rules. We use a chair as the strike zone.

I watched a video on tv on nesn, the redsox baseball channel, they were in a rain delay and they had a show about wiffleball playing, it was pretty interesting, they showed how someone made fenway park and ebbets field.

I love me some wiffleball. A few summers back I would play at my cousin's house every day. He had a great backyard for 1v1 or 2v2 (sounds lame but the way it was set up was perfect). We would have tournaments for money and everything, so some fights definitely went down. Then a year later they ended up building a deck on the grass and I've barely played since. I used to be able to throw a SICK riser pitch.

                          Heres our rules......

Ghost runners- If the fielder gets the ball before you reach the base your out
No walks- If your hit or 4 balls its a new count

                          thats about it......

We have these balls that look like baseballs but there hollowed out and have holes in them its pretty cool.

We don't play wiffle ball, it's not really heard of in the UK. We have played a version of it with a foam covered bat and a tennis ball, where you had to run and could steal bases.

We took our wiffle ball very seriously in my neigborhood.

We had a full fledged league, kept stats (I still have the record books), teams had "official" rosters, with trading/trade dealines/free agents, and even an All Star Game and postseason awards.

We played 3 vs. 3, and ran bases. None of this pussy ghost runner or "hit line" bullshit. P, SS, 1B. You could sub, but player being replaced was out of the game (no re entry).

We also played with BB's, so pitchers had to have control. No re entry for P's, so you had to make pitching changes wisely. Lawn chair provided the strike zone.

We built a HR fence, but park police made us tear it down, so we would make a HR line with branches from trees. If you went over the line to catch a fly, it was a HR. Feet had to stay in front of the line.

6 inning games. Starting P's had to go 4 to earn the win. Same Save rules as the majors.

Runners could be thrown out at the plate if the fielder hit the lawn chair (any part, not just the strike zone) before runner crossed the plate.

If the batter took a full swing, there was a line about three feet in front of the plate that the ball had to cross, or it was foul.

Bunts were legal, and did not have to cross the batting line.

Runners could steal bases, but only if the pitcher made a pickoff attempt. This lead to some interesting cat and mouse games.

The most important rule...ONLY OFFICIAL "WIFFLE" BATS AND BALLS COULD BE USED!! None of these bullshit off-brand bats or balls. Bats could be "taped", but only to league specifications.

Anyone caught "loading" a bat was banned.

Anyone caught "scuffing" a ball was banned. Balls break harder with cracks. Only "natural" cracks created during the coarse of the game were allowed. Creating a crack was considered "scuffing". Any ball with more than one significant natural crack was no longer used for league play.

I could go on all day with all the little rules we had. It seems strict, but it was incredibly fun.
