Good list, Joe Mauer has it hands down now that he hits with power!

Lol, Soto would've been a close 6 last year, but not this year.

And at this point, he has been playing more first base than catcher for the Red Sox anyways.

Soto makes any Top 5 Catchers on steroids list. As does Pudge Rodriguez.

Mauer is first, no doubt. Its going to be interesting to see if the big guy can make a career of it behind the plate.

Molina is second on defense alone. He is, flat out, the best defensive catcher in baseball. He is like Ivan in his prime.

Honestly, no one else is even close to either one of these guys. Now, in five years, when Bryce Harper is leading my Nationals to the pennant, then we'll talk ;)
The king was shaken. He went up to the room over the gateway and wept.
As he went, he said: "O my son Absalom! My son, my son Absalom!
If only I had died instead of you
O Absalom, my son, my son!"

Say whaaaaat? Best offensive catcher in the NL, and the guy who handles the #1 staff ERA is no where near these guys? Yadi is a brilliant catcher and solid behind the plate but to say McCann is nowhere near him is a bit of a stretch IMO.

                          4. Victor Martinez (sort of a lifetime achievement award, since his days at catcher seem to be numbered now)
                          5. Jorge Posada

                          Now if we're talking defensively...
                          1. Jason Kendall
                          2. Bengie Molina
                          3. A.J. Pierzynski
                          4. Yadier Molina
                          5. Russell Martin
Defensively, Kurt Suzuki has to be on your Top 5. That guy is a fucking stud behind the plate. The reason he's not as popular as the others you named is because the A's blow goat dick.

Caros Ruiz is one of the best defensive catchers in the game, too bad he can't hit over .225.
