Arod admits to Steroid Use in 2003

Arod admitted he used steroids in 2003 and apologized

Alex Rodriguez met head-on allegations that he tested positive for steroids six years ago, telling ESPN on Monday that he did take performance-enhancing drugs while playing for the Texas Rangers during a three-year period beginning in 2001.

"I did take a banned substance. For that, I'm very sorry and deeply regretful."

It really doesn't matter. Nothing anyone will do about it. How do we know Babe Ruth, Hank Aaron, or Willie Mays wasn't on some kind of steroid? 90% of MLB players have taken some kind of anabolic steroid in the past. Why wouldn't they if they knew they wouldn't get in trouble for it?

If only Griffey never got hurt all those times.

Then he would be the HR king and we wouldnt have this problem.

I am 100% positive Griffey never used them. Or atleast no signs show that he did.

Maybe he should have so he could heal faster...

his interview was better than i thought, I still think A-Rod is one of the best hitters of all time.

For everyone who says steroids dont work look at Arods stats from 01-03. He averaged 52 homeruns in those three years and averaged 39 homeruns in the rest of his career. Pretty big difference if you ask me. I applaud Arod for coming "clean" but I dont buy most of the crap that he said during his interview.

Yeah but in all of those 3 years he had more at bats and in 2007 he had 54 homeruns. None of those 3 years stick out from the others like he said.

i don't buy when he says he didn't know what he's taking. But he was also hitting in arlington, which is a premier hitters ballpark.

Do you really think he only took steroids for those three years. He never got caught so why would he want to stop taking them. The only reason why he probably said 2001-2003 is because 2003 was when he tested positive so why would he come out and say I took steroids as a yankee. Cause I am pretty sure there is more pressure playing in NY then playing in Texas where he had the "weight of the world on him". But hey at least he is not going to face criminal charges like Bonds and Clemens.
