    Braves trade for Rick Ankiel

    Braves Get:
    - Rick Ankiel (CF)
    - Kyle Farnsworth (RP)

    Royals Get:

    - Jesse Chavez (RP)
    - Tim Collins (RP?)
    - Gregor Blanco (CF)

I'm a huge fan of Blanco and I hate to see him go. I've hated Chavez from the start and I'm so glad he's gone.

Still one of my favorite players.

Interesting to see him go to Atlanta considering that's who the Cards were playing in the playoffs when his control went haywire.

Fuck Farnsworth. He is my last memory of postseason Braves baseball.

Has there ever been a more amazing baseball story in the past 15 years than Rick Ankiel?
What he did defies odds beyond belief.

I'll never forget the month or so after Rick made it to the big leagues as a hitter.

In other news, Rick will be the last Cardinal to wear #24 as his former number was retired in St. Louis today.

Same here, and that was the first thing I thought of, lol. I remember watching that game in the hospital and wondering what was going on with him.
