I think its not just Prado. Honestly not a whole lot of players on the Braves have such experience as being in a September race. Most of these guys didn't even know what post-season race smelled like before this season. That's why I was worried about Chipper, he's the vet who could have brought this guys together in the clubhouse and maybe just pushed himself out on the field a little more and the guys would have followed.

We had a similar issue with the Phils in 2007, when we took on the rockies and got killed.

Yeah it's definitely an issue that we should've seen coming once Chip went down. I think Chipper standing up to speak at the players-only meeting last week really hammers that point home. We don't have many guys with experience playing meaningful baseball in September, so Chip is still leading this team in street clothes.

There's McCann (from 05, his rookie year), Gonzalez, Hinske, Glaus, Lee, Ankiel (if you can count him) and Melky.

Everyone else, including our 2 and 3 hole guys, are doing this for the first time.

Sadly, the 21-year old is the only one who has gotten better as the pressure has increased, everyone else is fading.

I have no idea where Eric Hinske has been either, I figure he'll get some starts this weekend with two tough RHP's going for Philly.

I personally was a little irritated at Hamels performance/lack of preparation, but still, I could never really be mad at him because he basically won us a World Series.

As far as the fat mouth part Blade, what are you referring to? The only thing I recall Hamels saying last year was when he was in a funk in the playoffs and had said that he just wished the season were over (a comment blown TOTALLY out of proportion).

Well there were a couple times during the season where he "opened up" to Philly media about his struggles and stuff he said maybe made sense in his head, but sounded like nothing but excuses and placing blame on outside factors. I don't remember specifically but there were a couple times, once in the spring and then in July last year.

I didn't mind the WS quote, I didn't blame him for that, he had a rough year, anyone would feel that way. But it did get him in to hot water, because once again when you are struggling, you don't want to give stuff like that away.

Because 1) it can be viewed as an excuse, 2) can be viewed as playing the blame game, 3) gives the opponent a mental edge.

He's young, so what do you expect but he's learning the off the field stuff.

My final game of my ticket pack is Sunday against the Mutts...and I think our boy Cole is pitching. So I'm psyched.

Haha, do you have season tickets? I've had the Sunday plan since '03 so I always get playoff tickets every year, at least 1 game per series.

In fact, my playoff tickets came in the mail yesterday. I got Game 5 of the NLDS, Game 1 of the NLCS and Game 1 of the World Series this year. Usually they give season ticket holders an opportunity to buy an additional game or two during the course of the playoffs, so I'm banking on that too.

Season ticket holders (whether it's partial or full season) get the option to buy postseason tickets. They aren't included with your package, you have to buy them separate. But, they are guaranteed to you at face value.

The difference between partial and full is that partials get 1 game per series, while full season ticket holders get every playoff game. I had to shell out $600 back in August for 3 games (6 tickets) - $50 x2 for NLDS, $90 x2 for NLCS and $150 x2 for World Series. Obviously, it's been well worth it the last few years.

Waiting here at the ATL airport, feel so bad on how alone Smuggle is. They are not even showing the game at the fucking bars here.....WTF is up with that?!?! There is a TGI's and a random bar in the food concourse, and they don't have access to Braves games!

I go to the bartender at TGI's and he asks me who they playing, I respond Phils and he's like "Oh Braves are gonna lose.......who cares?!" LOL.....sorry smug, you are alone my friend.

BTW great write up on Kolb, totally agree with you, pretty much wrote what I wrote, in 6 posts prior to that.
