I think the Braves are in free fall now. Their ace got jacked up last night by the Nats, and I think that the Phillies series might have just crushed them. Their saving grace, however, is that no one seems to want to win the West. They may just sneak in, as Nahste said in the NL East thread, by the skin of their dicks.

Personally, I think the Giants and Padres will both get in, both by small margins depending on the manner. I don't think that the Rockies have the pitching to make the push, and this 5 game losing streak their in isn't helping. It's a semi-exciting race nonetheless, even if I don't think any of the 3-4 teams in contention are that good.

Yeah, we appear cooked. Hudson is done, our back-end has been shit since Medlen went down (Minor admitted to the media he has been exhausted for a couple weeks.) Prado was already hurt and now looks seriously hurt (left tonight's game with a pulled oblique, looked really pained), and our hitters can't get it done with RISP to save their lives.

Luckily San Diego is shitting the bed right alongside us. They lost 1-0 to the Cubs tonight. How the fuck does that happen right now, given the state of the Cubs? I still think we get in, only to be swept by Philly in the NLCS (if we even make it that far).
